I am writing to formally report a serious food safety and sanitation concern regarding my visit to the KFC located on N. Woodland Blvd. in DeLand, Florida, on Sunday, December 29, 2025.
After placing my order, I was instructed to pull forward while my food was being prepared. When an employee came to collect my payment, I was extremely disturbed to observe that he had visible nasal discharge on his face. This was entirely inappropriate and alarming in a food service setting. I am aware that this employee works as a cook at this location, which raises serious concerns about potential contamination and customer health.
I immediately brought this issue to the attention of the on-duty manager. While the manager apologized, the situation itself reflects a serious lapse in judgment and adherence to basic health and safety standards. An employee who is visibly ill should not be permitted to work—especially in food preparation or customer-facing roles.
This experience was unacceptable and has caused me to lose confidence in the sanitation practices at this location. I believe this matter warrants immediate attention, investigation, and corrective action to ensure customer safety. I also plan to notify the local health department due to the seriousness of the issue.

The food is not bad. The amount of food provided is suffering from shrinkflation. The pieces of chicken are tiny. The bucket of chicken is 1/4 to 1/2 what is was 20 to 30 years ago.

So just went here and the manager Mandy is very rude asked for lots of extra pickles and she said most I can do is 6 then she proceeded to make the sandwich herself and slathered mayo all over the sandwich so it was just a soggy mess we usually love this KFC and the rest of the staff is great but everytime Mandy is there it's a terrible experience

This KFC has made an incredible turn around. It is noticeable by the up tick in customers. I am a frequent flyer. It is worth going and seeing for yourself. Service inside or drive thru is light-years ahead of where they were. Congrats on the turn around. Hope it sticks.

Chicken looks like it was cooked in old oil 🛢 been eating in KFC since te 60's and never have seen it like this.
