Let me just say this place is expensive. Very expensive considering its location and cuisine.Let's move on. The waiter was young and seemed fairly new to the position. He was polite and friendly, but not very attentive. I can attribute it to inexperience. The decor was sugar skulls and sugar skull girls. It was bright, colorful, but unoriginal. The furniture wasn't themed but seemed like left over furniture from the pizza restaurant that inhabited this location prior. We started with chips, salsa and guacamole. It was all tasty. Then a spicy chicken and carne asada tacos. These were lack luster at best. We had a classic margarita and a watermelon jalapeno margarita. These were enjoyable as well. For the entree we both had a chicken burrito, wet with red sauce. I found the red sauce very tasty. Only to be placed upon a very mediocre chicken burrito. The chicken was once again like the taco, lacking in flavor. We wrapped with another set of margaritas and called it quits. So the bill for this evening $150. Ouch. Like double ouch. So consider yourself warned. Unless you really want to spend $30 plus dollars on fajitas. There is no shortage of Mexican restaurants in the Boca/Delray area. Your money will go further in the majority of them.
We went there for Tuesday Tacos. $3 each. Supposedly a good deal. Most of us ordered two tacos. The waiter only brought one taco each. He apologized and went back to get the rest. It took so long. We canceled the order. Margaritas were weak. Food was mediocre. Street corn was old and flavorless. We will never go back. Took a long time to ring up checks too. Never again for this place
Had Carne asada and crispy fish tacos both were excellent and plentiful Haven't tried dinner menu yet but I certainly will Love the decor also ....oh yeah I didn't smell like the restaurant when I left.
Las Catrina's is the best Mexican restaurant I've had in South Florida. PERIOD. Burrito was perfect! So perfect I didn't take any home... Big thanks to Andy the manager is amazing! He came out and spoke with us for a few moments. Thanks again for a great meal!!! Great meal, great service, great atmosphere. Fyi all that = a great experience. Can't wait to come back.
Colorful and spacious place to grab some “Amexican” food in Delray Beach. The food is not particularly original, meaning it’s the typical food offered in American-Mexican restaurants; however it’s pretty good and well executed. They also have one of the best margaritas I tried outside of my home; maybe a tad sweet but good. The service was very good at the bar and we really had a good time. They also have salsa courses on Saturday (salsa to dance, not to eat), it would be fun to try once.Prices are a bit on the high side ($ 5 tacos) but on par with similar places in PBC, so not bad.I will definitely stop by again when in the area, this place has a good vibe
I will never turn down a Mexican restaurant so when my friend suggested meeting up here for dinner I was all in. The restaurant is located on Federal Hwy in the South Delray Shopping Center, near the border of Delray Beach and Boca Raton. Las Catrinas opened in the spot formerly occupied by Sardinia Enoteca Ristorante. The name of the restaurant comes from catrinas which are the skeletons used as a symbol of the Day of the Dead, Día de Muertos. Las Catrinas was opened in March of 2021 by Chef Jonathan "JD" Eubanks, winner of the armed forces themed episode of "Guy's Grocery Games" on the Food Network. His business partner is sous chef John Cirillo. The aim of the restaurant is to create traditional Mexican dishes with an elevated flair. I was wowed as soon as I walked in the door. Large colorful murals by artist Ruben Ubiera cover all of the walls and an inviting bar lines one side of the restaurant while the open kitchen is along the back wall. You can dine inside the large open dining room which can hold 160 people or at one of the outside patio tables. The former Italian restaurants pizza oven has been transformed into a clay oven. My friend and I started out meal with a refreshing mango-strawberry margarita ($14) made with Reposada tequila, strawberry, mango, and agave. We followed it with and a basket of the seasoned chips and salsa ($4). I loved the seasoning on the chips but the standout of the meal was the hot sauce. I am someone who stays away from spicy heat but I was pouring it on everything! It's hot and sweet and completely addicting. As we were walking out one of the owners explained how much went into the process of making it. It is a labor of love and you can taste it in every drop. For my main course I indulged in their half priced taco special which is offered on Tuesday and Thursday. I chose the Birria with beer braised brisket, melted chihuahua queso, and picked onions, Carnita with pickled red onion and charred pineapple, and a shrimp taco with red cabbage slaw, charred pineapple, and chipotle remoulade. They were all amazing but if I had to pick a favorite it would be the birria with its tender brisket packed into a slightly crispy corn tortilla. It had so much flavor but when you add that hot sauce, bam! Other items on the menu include aperitivos, quesadillas, ensaladas, burritos, fajitas, and enchiladas. They do offer a $8 children's menu. Out server was Stormy and she was great. I loved every aspect of this restaurant from the service, to the esthetic , and most importantly the food. They offer live entertainment with a DJ and salsa dancing every Saturday night. It sounds like a lot of fun. If you are in the area and looking for a great Mexican restaurant Las Catrinas Mexican & Tequila bar will satisfy all of your cravings.
What a colorful place with a fun vibe and open floor plan. We were able to host a birthday party there at the restaurant with our family and friends. Good food and atmosphere. The staff and management were working hard to take care of the party and make sure we were happy. The bartender Ryan made great alchohol and non-alcoholic or mocktails, and our server Kerry took great care of us! We found out there was salsa dancing 8:30pm Saturday nights!Thank you again!
We came here for HH last Saturday.I love the paintings on the wall and the décor in general. The bar area is very big, the same goes for the dining room and they also have some tables outside by the entrance. The waiter (Ryan) was awesome: he’s very friendly and very knowledgeable!Their Margaritas are totally homemade, meaning that they don’t use the prepared mix, but freshly squeezed limes. That day they also had the spicy Margarita for HH, and personally I prefer this one to the regular, which I found to be too sweet. We also tried the brisket quesadilla: I don’t know how really Mexican that dish is, but it was the best quesadilla I ever had!Their chips and sauces (not complimentary) are very tasty as well.I hope we can go back for HH on a Tuesday, when they offer tacos at a special price. And maybe one day we will be able to dine there on a Saturday night, when they have a salsa coach teaching the patrons how to dance!
VERY FUN and upbeat restaurant. We ordered the fajitas. Food was absolutely fantastic. They had a DJ there with some salsa lessons. This is the kind of place you to not go to just for food. You go to have fun and a couple drinks. I’ll definitely be going back to try to get that five star experience next time.
very fun . great food . great atmosphere! . 5 stars !

Amazing food and great tequila selection
Went during the happy hour. Received a taco with nothing in it. My friend's drink was like $18. Service was mediocre at best. This restaurant will probably fail.....
Great food. GM is wonderful, friendly and very informative. Would definitely come back.
Modern atmosphere and menu. Excellent happy hour options and amazing tequila selections. Be sure to ask for the esquites! It's not formally on the menu, but they will make it for you! Delicious! Staff and management make the entire dining experience a treat
