Ordered espresso and it was good (Illy). Server delivered it to me in the lobby, so excellent service!

I don't usually like to give negative reviews but this place was pretty disappointing. I don't think I'd really call this place a coffee shop at all. They have a commercial "espresso" machine that is fed coffee pods(think nespresso) with pressurized baskets to give the illusion of crema. Unsurprisingly, the coffee tastes pretty bad even with sweeteners added. Not to mention, the place was not very clean. The service was okay but they didn't seem very friendly or remotely happy to be there. And lastly, if you pay with credit card you cannot finish the transaction unless you tip. There is no option for $0 and when trying to select a different option it reset and wouldn't let me continue unless I selected a tip option. Normally I tip wherever I go, but charging on the high end for coffee shops for a nespresso style latte isn't great in my book. I would not recommend this place to anyone and would encourage to look elsewhere in delray because there are actual espresso bars close by.

It's such a cute coffee place inside The Ray Hotel. I loved being able to get my black coffee and fruit salad and sit in the nice comfy chairs in the lobby. I was a little surprised however-I was here for national coffee day and they didn't acknowledge it in any way whatsoever! It's good for a change of pace from all of the other coffee shops around town. I loved meeting my good friend here for coffee and good conversation! I parked on the street and it was easy in the morning and that's a good thing!

This once upscale hotel continues its downward spiral to a -1 star hotel. NIGHT TIME front desk staff couldn't care less about doing there job. Customer service is an unknown skill to them. Everytime I have visited this hotel something major doesn't work in the room, tv, shower control etc. If you Dont speak Spainish or some African language go elsewhere. Adjacent Japanese Resturant is 5 star. Loud roof top bar/club can be heard throughout the hotel into late night. Drunks from roof top club roam the halls at night banging on doors looking for??? If you are looking for a upscale hotel it is not this one!!!! If you plan an event you will be shown a show room room. If you have a keen nose you can smell the mold

Customer service at this hotel was exceptional. The room size is amazing and the front desk staff was just amazing. John, one of the pool attendants went above and beyond to make our experience unforgettable. He served everyone he encountered with kindness and extra care. He was genuinely happy to do his job. All of the pool guests including my husband and I praised him for his diligence. He’s awesome! Josh was great as well. Nightlife at the hotel rooftop was lively and enjoyable. Stop thinking about it and just book it. You won’t regret it.

Overall The Ray was enjoyable. The staff at the pool were the most accommodating and went out of their way to make sure you were happy. Austin, Josh, Willy and Leah were wonderful and should be recognized for their service. The location of the hotel is fantastic and easily walkable to just about anywhere. The only drawback is the rooftop lounge music on Friday and Saturday nights. It is extremely loud and can be heard in your room while trying to sleep (we were on the 3rd floor as well).

OK where to begin-I have been at The Ray for almost two weeks and checking out soon. From the pre-arrival App Messages (Amanda/JP) to the first view of the location in charming Delray; the very polite and efficient Valet; and then the lobby I knew we found a South Florida GEM. Haven't seen 4 simultaneous smiles at a check-in too often-and constant assistance from Tom. Our room is the quietest and cleanest I have had in years; housekeeping is superlative; breakfast and dinner choices are excellent but limited until "season" begins. Rooftop poo is very nice but very crowded (deservedly so). New upscale restaurant opening in October. Rosewater on the roof has very professional, efficient and personable staff-Winnie, Ellie, Cassandra, Jill. The best Curio I've been to. With family down here we will be back. Much thanks to GM Alex-a real pro.

Daniel checked us in and was so amazing! He told us about all the amazing amenities and made sure we knew everything the Ray had to offer. The room was beautiful and had everything we could need, as well as being within walking distance of many restaurants and shops. Could not recommend this hotel enough and credit Daniel with making our stay extra hospitable!

Hotel is top notch and serviced matched it. Gwen was very friendly, lots of personality and made our stay even brighter. Room was amazing, bathroom very modern with a perfect shower. We had a small patio we didn’t use since we only stayed 1 night, really wish we had more time to enjoy the pool on the roof. Espresso machine was a plus, high quality. We wanted to use the mini fridge for our own beverages so they came in and removed all their products. Highly recommend.

This hotel is highly rated for a reason. We had an overall great stay however there are some things to consider when traveling with kids, in my case 12 and 15 yo. This review is mainly written for those with families. Pros: -Location- In the heart of everything! -Beach Shuttle - easy to schedule rides and when we called to get picked up we hardly waited. They drop you off in front of the Delray Beach pavilion so there are plentiful food options nearby! -Umbrellas, chairs, and towels for the whole family and the process couldn’t have been easier. -Stylish, on trend- just look at the pics, it truly is a gorgeous hotel. Excellent toiletries (quality brand and plentiful pumps of shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion for the whole family). -Friendly, hospitable staff everywhere. Cons: -Belongings- Booked a "Premiere Room with Private Furnished Terrace" and it was smaller than anticipated including the terrace - see my note below. There are no dressers and it’s about impossible to fit clothing and tuck away suitcases for 4 adult size people. I looked into a suite but per the website it only sleeps 2 people (hence they are not catering to families, just not their target market). -Rethink “large balcony”. Website says, "With ample space to unwind inside and out, enjoy an oversized terrace, adorned with bespoke furnishings". Nowhere could I find a depiction of what an upgrade to the larger private balcony could get me but I went for it anyway. Deck space is important for our family since it gives extra living space and I was hoping we’d get a room with more than just a small table and two chairs like the standard room. I included pics so you see what you’re getting with this room type. It is slightly larger than the free standing all glass balcony and has material on each side for privacy. More seating was needed for us. -No fridge- there is a mini bar which, again, is great when catering to couples and convenience. Our family of 4 needed a mini-fridge which the room does not have. -Nespresso machine but no pods provided. That continued to be an oversight until our very last day there. -Untimely housekeeping. Yet again, with a family in a room this small we needed tidying up each day such as towel refreshes, garbage disposal, things like a roll of toilet paper. Housekeeping was acceptable for most but not all days and they must be trained to only provide two towels....yet again, fine for a couple but not a family of four! One day, I put in a call at 11 am for housekeeping and didn’t get what I needed until after 5pm. This particular day we urgently needed towels to get 4 people through showers and out the door for a dinner reservation. I called 3 times and even walked down to the front desk. I’m sure this is not the service The Ray wants to put forth (it was excellent everywhere else) but it did …so just a heads up if you need items you may want to get on it asap! Pool- beautiful rooftop to hang with your loved one or friends. It’s a 3 ft deep pool the entire way, absolutely made to chill with a drink in hand and not actually swim. A young child, in particular, would look so out of place here (imo) especially on a weekend when the party scene heats up. Dining- at time of this review the Ember Grill was closed and I understand that will remain permanent until they place another restaurant in that space. They are reimagining their dining at the moment due to new dining ownership in the hotel. Not an issue for us as there are plentiful dining options nearby, Akira Back is still open and Stingers grab and go for breakfast was open and you could also get food at the rooftop. Yes, I have more cons listed but in the end it worked for us for what really mattered. And sure, if you are ok doubling your hotel costs some of my inconveniences could have been resolved by a connecting room but not all. If you’re going as a couple or with friends, you will likely love this place. With a family, you can decide for yourself based on your needs.

We stayed at The Ray this week to attend a concert. Hotel is was beautiful and clean. Pool area absolutely gorgeous. Quiet and peaceful. Peter and Valet Staff were amazing and helpful with finding somewhere for breakfast! Walked next door to Christina’s. Small mom and pop and food was excellent! Overall we loved this spot and definitely will be back again!

The Ray is a sleek hotel in the heart of Delray. I was fortunate enough to have stayed here on a discount while conducting a site visit for my travel consulting firm. Property was modern and clean, offering an upscale vibe and bright atmosphere. Lobby lacked ambiance and could use live music in the evening. Although advertised, there was none through your entire stay. Rooftop pool was beautiful and luxe yet severely lacked seating for hotel capacity. One day the pool staff put us in the corner by the bathrooms, off of the pool deck and tucked in a corner. I honestly didn’t mind but it was definitely an odd experience. While I understand that this property is inclusive of all ages, the pool was never quiet and children were running around unsupervised. Rosewater Rooftop bar was overpriced during the day but very affordable during happy hour. There should be a separate pool menu for more casual fare while lounging. No burger, fries, etc. offered which is rather strange. Rooms were well appointed and bathrooms were amazing. Balcony was tiny and lacked comfortable seating. All in all, The Ray is a solid option if visiting the area, but I would not classify it as five star or “luxury” by any means.
