“WOW. I am blown away. I used to be a regular before the remodel and when the old management owned the store, simply because I love sushi, and let me tell you…it was never a pleasant experience…between the workers, attitudes, waits, etc. Today was my first time back after the remodel and to my surprise, with new management. The staff was EXCEPTIONAL. Haley, my waitress, had the bubbliest personality and was SO happy to be there. The sushi chefs were phenomenal, friendly, and good at what they do. Tracey, the new manager of the location, took the time to speak with me and was extremely personable and kind. A complete 180 of the service I used to get. I will definitely be back, and 1000000% recommend. If you have ever had a bad experience in the past, for sure go back with the new management. You are in for a treat. I’m now traveling weekly to Ft. Walton Beach for work, and on a recent trip I asked my Uber driver for local favorites for happy hour and dinner. Without hesitation, he pointed me to Marina Cafe, in nearby Destin and wow, was that a great call.

I stopped in a few times for happy hour and quickly got to know Meegan and Jamie at the bar. These two are the real deal: outstanding bartenders, warm, engaging, and always smiling.

During one happy hour, Meegan clued me in on Marina Café’s very popular BOGO hour, so when my wife joined me on my next business trip, we made reservations for 5:30 PM. We arrived early, stood in line with the locals (always a good sign), and grabbed a quick beverage at the bar. Meegan, always remembers my go-to cocktail, but also remembered what I mentioned my wife Diane enjoys. That kind of service is rare and genuinely impressive.

We shared an excellent shrimp cocktail before dinner, and Manager Troy stopped by to say hello. He’s clearly present, engaged, and invested in the guest experience. From there, we were seated and warmly greeted by our server, Ms. Michaela. She did a fantastic job explaining how the special worked, confirmed Diane’s favorite sea bass was available, and reassured me the chef absolutely knew how to prepare swordfish properly.

When I asked for a wine recommendation, Michaela collaborated with Troy, and the pairing they suggested was spot-on. Both entrées were expertly prepared, beautifully cooked and well-seasoned. This kitchen knows exactly what it’s doing.

Before heading out, we made one last stop at the bar for a late-night chocolate martini crafted by Jamie, the perfect nightcap to close out an exceptional evening.

Marina Café isn’t just a great restaurant; it’s a place that understands hospitality, consistent service and great food. Locals love it, and now so do we. If you’re in Destin and don’t go here, you’re doing it wrong.

“Our daughter and I recently enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Osaka Japanese Hibachi in Destin, FL. The atmosphere and ambiance was beautiful and serene! We were greeted as we stepped through the door and seated in one of the smaller dining areas as we requested. Our server was very skilled and exceptionally kind. Our meals were probably some of the most delicious ever! The presentation of these meals were so beautiful, it made the entire experience so relaxing and enjoyable!
We had enjoyed the hibachi with family for our daughter’s birthday 2 years before. It was very entertaining and oh so delicious as well. We have happily recommended Osaka and will continue to do so!“

“The employees are all delightful and the food is delicious. The employees are always polite and friendly. I go there every time the pay check hits and I’ve yet to have a bad experience there. The coupons from the mail are great too, it really helps with knocking down the prices especially after grocery shopping.“

“We were traveling back home to Lakeland from a long holiday and we decided to stop in Niceville, we saw this place and decided to try it. We are so happy we did! From the sushi roll to the ramen bowl and the tempora shrimp, EVERYTHING was excellent, including the staff. We loved the atmosphere, relaxed and sport friendly, for those who like to watch football. “This is one of those reviews that you are reluctant to write because it will only mean you’ll have more competition to get a table.

But this business is hands-down the best sushi in the entire area. Not least because the fish is fresh, the restaurant itself is lovely and clean and spacious, but because they make you feel so welcome. The owner will come up to your table without fail, recognizing you if this is a return visit, and without any awkwardness make you feel welcome.

The restaurant is oversubscribed. They do not have online reservations and you need to arrive knowing that you might be on the waitlist. But with a little patience, you will be rewarded handsomely.

My favorite part however, is that when the tourists flock into Santa Rosa Beach, the owner and his wife shoot off on grand Summer adventures elsewhere and close that little shop for most of June and July. The reason being that they belong to an elite set of restaurants that are able to fill every cover throughout the week with locals for the rest of the year.

With that rare combination of great food, ambience and personal service, they don’t even need the summer rush.“

“My family ate here Friday night and it was wonderful. We had outstanding service from all the staff, but especially our server Mackenzie. Hands down the best Sushi we have ever eaten and yummy filets cooked to perfection. Our little girl loved her kids quesadillas too. Restrooms are clean if we get there at or around noon, other wise blame the customers for a mess if there is one. Wish there was one in Ft. Walton Bch. Fl, but his is close enough if you want a good, affordable, Chinese meal.“
