Best meal I’ve ever had in the Keys. My husband and I travel all over the world and frequent Michelin starred restaurants. We were unsure how this meal would go based on reviews we came across. I’m not sure if the restaurant just had a few kinks to work out after they opened, but we had a 10/10 experience. The highlights for us were the Kill Dill cocktail, the grilled oysters, the tomato salad, and the key lime tart. We will be back!

Absolutely fantastic meal. Everything, from drinks and apps to dessert was great. Olive oil poached swordfish was phenomenal, one of the best seafood dishes I've had in a restaurant. Service was excellent.

Best meal we had on property! Really great food and Ryan did a great job with the service.
A little loud with the high ceilings and lots of families, but overall lovely experience.

Salt + Ash occupies a stunning setting within Hawks Cay Resort, and visually, it delivers. The dining room is beautifully appointed, the atmosphere refined without feeling overly formal, and much of the service staff we encountered were warm and attentive. Unfortunately, the experience was undermined before we ever sat down.
We were visiting the resort to celebrate my best friend’s wedding and approached the restaurant in person to arrange a dinner reservation for approximately ten guests. What should have been a straightforward request became an unnecessarily uncomfortable exchange. The front-of-house representative handled the inquiry with a tone that felt dismissive and, at times, openly condescending. We were initially told our group would need to be split among separate outdoor tables. Moments later, we were informed we could sit together—but only with a $125 per-person preset menu requirement. The manner in which this was presented felt less like a policy explanation and more like a challenge, delivered with an expression that suggested doubt about whether we could accommodate it.
When we calmly agreed that the fee was not an issue, the position shifted yet again—suddenly we could order normally without the preset requirement. The inconsistency was frustrating. More disappointing, however, was watching the groom—who had already invested significantly to host his wedding at the resort—be treated as though he were asking for something unreasonable. His grace in the situation was admirable; mine was far thinner.
As for the cuisine, expectations were high. I’ve dined at the chef’s other establishment and found it exceptional—thoughtful, balanced, and memorable. Here, the execution lacked the same precision and depth. The dishes were competent but uninspired, falling well short of what the setting and pedigree promise.
Salt + Ash is aesthetically impressive, and much of the staff contribute positively to the experience. But hospitality begins at the door. On this occasion, it faltered in a way that overshadowed everything else.

Very disappointed with our experience at Hawks Cay. After waiting over an hour at one restaurant on the property (their system had crashed), we were told that Salt + Ash would accommodate takeout orders instead. We went back to our room and then contacted Salt + Ash, only to be told that takeout was not possible.
It was extremely frustrating to wait that long, be redirected, and then find out the information we were given was incorrect. If takeout isn’t offered, that should be clearly communicated between restaurants on the property so guests aren’t sent back and forth.
We understand technical issues happen, but better coordination and communication would have saved us a lot of time and inconvenience.
Food is fabulous! Every dish is a culinary delight, With a mix of interesting flavors. The key lime pie is unique and unbelievable- you MUST try it
