We went to Sallie's for my mother's birthday. Food was delicious. Owner was our server. He was friendly and provided great service. He offered an on-the-house item to my mother, which was extremely generous and unexpected. Food was delicious, plated nicely. Owner asked for permission to place a candle in my mother's dessert and allowed us to sing to her which again was thoughtful. Interior is nicely decorated and on the romantic side. Sallie's is a hidden gem! I would not hesitate to go again:)

We brought our visiting friends last Friday for a unique food experience and were pleased as always. The husband/wife team provides delicious dishes in a welcoming sophisticated setting. The complimentary chef's offering is always a delight with inventive soups and surprise tidbits to begin. The croquettes are a “don't miss them” appetizer, we shared cheese and shrimp. Each of us was pleased with our entrees from a the traditional Belgian beef stew to a seared scallop pasta dish. Our guests were so pleased to be able to thank the chef in person after our meal. She made a special effort to chat with them and even sent us home with a special sample of her white chocolate bourbon bread pudding. Thanks again Kieran and Michele for making Dunedin's dining scene even richer!
We have been to Sallie's several times and it never disappoints. The food is always fresh and delicious. Kieran is a great host, always willing to give us his recommendations for pairing the food with drinks. A delightful dining experience...and on Wednesdays, the best place for mussels.

This was our first and definitely not our last time dining here. The restaurant is so refreshing. The staff are so nice and welcoming it felt like we were meeting friends. The decor is cosy with posters and pictures of landmarks of Belgium. The music was softly playing and acoustics kept the noise level low making it very comfortable to carry on a conversation. The food was amazing. Having family in Belgium I've been there many times and the food was a true reflection of Belgian cuisine with a personal tweak from the chef. Absolutely delicious.

We had an excellent time. We were going just for dinner but we found a memorable culinary experience!! Don't let the location fool you, you'll find a refined little restaurant and VIP treatment from the moment you cross the door. Appetizers were large in size and extremely delicious! I've personally never had escargot so tender and flavorful before. Great wine selection, and one of a kind collection of Belgian beers! Incredibly tasty entrees. I strongly recommend the pork tenderloin with Jager sauce (OMG!!) And please, save some room (if you can) for the desserts. I can't remember the name of the one with chocolate mousse, but I intended to have just a couple of spoons and I ended up eating it all ?. Thank you Chef Michelle for putting so much love and art in your food! Thank you Kiran and Rafik for such warm and distinguished service!! We'll be back soon!!

By far the best culinary experience EVER!! I have had good food but this food surpassed anything I have eaten. I was so stunned I have been talking about this experience for 3 days. The ambience was great!! The owners were fantastic!! You must - must try this restaurant. Truly a hidden gem!! We are already planning return visit. The wine and beer selection was also spot on. This was an amazing experience, do not walk - run to this restaurant. You will not be disappointed!!
Fabulous restaurant experience. Kieran greeted us as he did last time and introduced him to friends / new customers. Food was amazing as usual and service is always spot on. So happy to have a new fabulous family owned restaurant in town to support. We will certainly be back. Thank you Michele for your delicious food.

The staff at Sallie's made my wife and my anniversary dinner very special and memorable. We had rose petals on the table and a complimentary drink. The food was excellent and the service top notch. We couldn't have asked a better dining experience.
The menu changes and is full of fresh chef creations. We had veggie pasta and Salmon filet. The welcome/free appetizer was highlight of our meal. We can't say enough great things about the delicious food and service here. Look forward to our next date night here!

My wife and I went here for our wedding anniversary. The filet mignon was cooked to perfection, the wine was excellent and the chocolate mousse was one of the best I’ve had. This place goes beyond great food…the service is top notch. Kieran and Michele (the owners) prepared an anniversary card for us, our table had rose pedals on it, and Kieran offered us a complimentary drink for the special occasion. They are truly remarkable hosts and I can’t recommend this place enough. Their attention to detail had us talking about the food and service all the way home. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a special night out.
