The Honu Restaurant and Tiki Bar

I found this place on Google. So the wife and I went out to try it. It's tucked away in downtown dunedin. Very cool vibes and you could hear the live music.

We get sat outside and it's nice. Very tiki bar type vibe. Crowd is nice. They have a great drink menu. We ordered some drinks and an appetizer of edamame. Entrees of sesame chili shrimp sushi bowl and Mahi Mahi tacos.

Drinks and app came out in about 10 mins. The entrees however took 45 mins. It was ridiculous. I understand it's Saturday night buy it wasn't over packed and it's only 4 shrimp and rice and 3 small tacos. We finally get our food. It's good. Presented well. Nothing that knocks my socks off but good. After finished eating it took another 20 mins to get our check.

For 2 Drinks, app of edamame and 2 entrees with the tip was $100 even. They really charge the most they can. I felt it should be more around $65 but it's fine. The wait for food and the check is what we didn't care for.

Had the food and check come out in a reasonable time we would totally go back to try their drink menu and other food items. But thinking about that wait again, no thanks. Plenty more spots in Dunedin. But worth a try once if you haven't been here.

Catering was fantastic, guests raved about the food. We ordered the Pork, Musubi, and Pineapple upside down cake to compliment other dishes. Was ready on time and pick up smooth.

And since they asked, specifically, the Fire Dancing Plate which is supposed to be sweet and spicy citrus chicken and shrimp. The sauce was so flat and sweet, it did not taste good. And how do you mess up rice? It was so smooshed it was the consistency of porridge. I am not a picky eater but I do know when a meal is good and this definitely wasn't especially for $25 for lunch come on!

Popped in on a Saturday afternoon. Wonderful space out back and easy to get to because it's downtown but not in the thick of downtown. Shaded seating. They also have their own parking - huge plus. Delicious food. First time going and will be back.

Very unprofessional manager who does not support the community. Very rude. I have sent a lot of people to this restaurant in the past. Guess what, I can send a lot of people away as well. Never Again

A bit disappointed with my 1st time here. The decor and atmosphere is amazing, the drinks are great. But the food was very bland and over cooked specifically the dried out chicken and fish. Kids meal was $16 (for the fish) which is pretty crazy.

Went here for the first time last night with my family. Our server Brandi was awesome! She suggested the meatballs for an appetizer and they were delicious . She also helped us decide which cocktails to order. Sat on the beautiful front patio. Nice atmosphere. We will be back.

I’ve been here a couple times before but this visit will ensure my return!! My server (Brandi with an i) was so good. We were laughing and she was there for everything we needed but honestly, the drink menu has been hard to navigate in the past. I told her what I liked and her recommendations were everything. We had a great time and everything tasted sooo good.

I love it here!! Second time and I absolutely love the food, the service (Vanessa and Brandi), the venue, the music, and the cocktail/cocktail Ube Colada is just wow! Definitely recommend!

The garden is great, and we've only been in the daytime so we haven't spent any time inside yet, but looked around inside and it's the coolest venue I've seen in a long time. Can't wait to hang out in there on an evening!

Great place! The waiters and waitresses were exceptional. They were especially gracious and professional despite some challenging guests. I was impressed with their skills!

The food is delicious! And you must try the Ghoul Bul. I recommend! Fun place to relax and have a great afternoon.
