Overpriced and unsatisfactory food from a restaurant that wishes it was Black Pearl but misses the mark in every way.
We paid $160 without a single alcoholic drink for a tiny plate of mediocre salmon and a tough piece of duck that was laughably inedible. The only reason we didn’t send it back is because we were so hungry when it came we had to eat what we could of it.
The beef tartare was full of gristle and the mushrooms were so rubbery you literally had to scoop them up with a fork…. You couldn’t penetrate them with the tines 😂
I’m glad to say I’ve tried it so we can cross this off the list and never go back.

The food is truly exceptional. Fresh, delicious and creative with amazing flavor combinations. From start to finish, our server, Carrie, was fantastic. We enjoyed our friend's 50th birthday celebratory dinner immensely. The pork chop with peach and kale, so tasty. The naan bread with goat cheese, herb butter, and burrata were a great 1st course. The desserts we so good! We will be back!

I've been here a few times and the food has always been good, however the beef at last nights dinner was a poor cut, tough, and overcooked. We ordered 2 of the beef entrées in the group and both were bad. Given the price this was very disappointing. I still give the food a 3 star because the starters were excellent.

Service was great, ambiance left a bit to be desired for the price point. The eclectic nature was a short sell but the concept was cool. Food was done well. Environment was very clean. It was a bit loud. For only 28 seats, it sounded like I was in a much larger restaurant. Overall I would go back because the curiosity of the updated menu is a draw. The food was done well enough to support a return visit.
Amazing! What a find! Worth the drive from Odessa :-) Food was delicious. We sat at the bar and watched as our dinner was made before our eyes...can't wait for our next trip back!
Definitely a place where dining is an actual experience. We ordered several starters, all were unique with a combination of bold and sweet flavors. The service was exceptional and the restaurant had a quaint flair, absolutely a 5 star establishment to dine at. Pictured was my favorite dish, it was divine.

We consider ourselves decent foodies having lived in NYC for 10 years and frequent travelers. The dining experience was great, casual-friendly. What we are confused about is the portion of the beef tenderloin that was served. Two of the smallest pieces of beef we have ever seen... our assumption part of the tail. Could not have been more than 2 oz. Literally 5 bites, not sure what happened or if this is normal BUT way too pricey for the portion. Having just paid the same at a posh Tampa establishment. The accompanying side was delicious and we don't mind smaller portions but we had to laugh a little with the two tiny pieces of meat, is this a joke size. Running out? Owners away for the summer? Will go back to try again in the winter. The fish was perfect.
We waited over an hour for our food, and during that time, our waitress did not communicate any delays or set expectations. A simple heads-up would have made a big difference, as the wait was long enough that we considered leaving.
While the food was very good, the portion sizes were small and the pricing felt definitely high for the overall experience. Given the location, atmosphere and level of service, the cost did not feel justified.
Additionally, we were disappointed to see that a 20% tip was automatically included in the bill. Tipping should reflect the quality of service received, and in this case, the service was average at best. The lack of communication during the long wait was frustrating.
Unfortunately, we won’t be back.

Update in Response to Owner: Yes, it was a couple of years ago when I encountered Cricket as a server. I dined there two more times afterwards and the review stands of basically good, not great food, with pretentious pricing. I chose a short review rather than a more detailed one to save time.
It was an interesting choice to go with the response you did instead of addressing the review of the food, pricing, etc. I would have chosen a different avenue to try to build relationships with members of the community, but possibly your seating is booked solid that there is no need to do so.
Original Review: Food was good. Pricing is pretentious, as is the interactions with the owner. Never met an owner who acts like she is doing you a favor by coming to work and she was actually our waitress. Just very weird all around.
