Tonight I finally tried Trattoria D'anna in Dunedin. For those of you that have been around in Dunedin for many years - I am Chef Ciro's biggest fan (remember the best chef ever? Bellinis?). I was a weekly regular at Bellinis for years.
Then I closely followed my friends Mike and Robin when they had Pensare in downtown. Since Pensare closed there has been an (Italian) boot sized whole in North Pinellas for good Italian cuisine.

This is pretty much the 4th review I've ever written.
I can't express enough how appreciative I am to have a nice restaurant in the area that serves food cooked in olive oil, beef tallow, or avocado oil. They cook with pasture raised eggs and pasture raised pork. After meeting the chef to tell him how much I appreciate that he uses optimal ingredients, he spent 10 minutes discussing with me that if he wasn't able to use the best ingredients he wouldn't be involved with...read full review
Fabulous meal from start to finish - calamari, grilled artichokes for apps then the best veal chops we have ever had w great sauces and toppings - then a great set of desserts and espresso. Jason our server was great. It isn’t cheap but it is seriously fine dining worth every penny.

Trattoria D'Anna offers a fantastic and phenomenal dining experience with amazing, fresh, and delicious food. The menu is paired down, focusing on quality. Dishes like the crab cakes, artichoke hearts, steak Anna, carbonara, meatballs, Gnocchi, lasagna, bolognese, Gorgonzola gnocchi, and seafood risotto special are all scrumptious and top notch. They accommodate food allergies and cook without seed oils. The service is excellent, helpful, well timed, friendly, and knowledgeable. The vibe is awesome. It is a highly recommended visit, with guests eager to return and work their way through the menu.
