We had one of the worst dining experiences at The Blue Gator. After waiting 30 minutes with no food, we finally asked what was going on and were told the kitchen was backed up and it would be another 45 minutes. Our server claimed she didn’t know until after we ordered. Honestly, we should have left at that point. When the food finally came, parts of it were cold and they completely missed an entire meal. We spoke to the manager, who admitted they “screwed up” and said he’d take care of it. Instead of stepping up, he pushed the responsibility back on the poor waitress, who was already overwhelmed, and had her bring our checks back without fixing anything. Extremely unprofessional from start to finish. If you’re considering this place, avoid it or at least go in knowing this is the level of service you can expect.

after a morning of canoeing on the rainbow river, my wife and i decided to take her friend from Texas out to lunch at Blue Gator. We arrived at about 2 in the afternoon. The sign said no indoor seating with an arrow pointing to the outdoor seating area. The next sign said wait here to be seated, so we waited. And no less than 3 waitresses looked at us wanting a table. After feeling ignored for a few minutes we left. Only 2 tables had people at them. We have been there before and service has been slow. I don't believe we will be back.

Rated 1 star due to a 2.5-hour wait with no food, weak drinks, and a manager who yelled at staff to “throw the fing food out” when we asked for the bill. He avoided our table, hung up on us when we called, and refused to provide owner info. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable experience.

My wife and I along with two friends had a great meal and excellent service. Nickolas was very nice and accommodating as it was extremely hot and outside available tables were in the sun. He found us inside seating and checked on us with a smiling face and great attitude. Our waitress was also very attentive and friendly. Our first trip but not the last! Check it out! 5 STARS

Our second trip to Dunnellon, Florida and the Rainbow Springs and staying at the Gator Den and eating at the Blue Gator restaurant right next door to the hotel. Ella was our waitress and took care of us. The second night, the GM of the entire complex greeted us and was very nice to chat with us and making sure we were comfortable. We ate both nights at the restaurant. First night, the food was good, but the second night it was only OK. Not sure if the crew in the kitchen was different, but things were not as fresh and also they were very greasy. Consistency? This place is really a nice place on a very special setting. Clean and with very friendly staff.

I would like to thank the new GM for listening to our feedback & changing the Fried Mushrooms back to their original recipe. I’ve always known this place as having some of the best fried mushrooms in town! Thanks for brining them back to their original greatness!

The restaurant has you seat yourself. Apparently we sat ourselves in a station of a server who clearly didn’t want to be working. The table happened to be still dirty from the previous occupants but we were a table of 5 so our options were limited. We used napkins to clean off what we could while waiting for someone to acknowledge us. When she did come over she stood over us and squirted cleaner all over the table and us. She mumbled hello and looked like she would rather be anywhere but there. This is where we should have just left. Unfortunately there’s not a lot of options in Dunnellon after a day on the river so we stuck it out. After drinks were delivered a different server came to take our order. She was much friendlier but when our food arrived she ordered us a totally different meal. Just a disappointing experience from beginning to end. I know for next time to just wait at Swampy’s, this was not worth it.

we had been sitting there for 35 mins without even getting our order taken, then sat there for an extra 2 hours waiting for our food. We ended up just paying for the drinks and leaving server was nice but kept saying the food was coming out shortly when it wasn’t even getting cooked.

Must be under new management. We are snowbirds and Blue Gator is our favorite place to eat but very disappointed this time. They no longer have the coconut shrimp with chili sauce 😕 We ordered the blackened shrimp & Grouper which was so greasy we couldn’t eat. Sure hope they go back to the way it used to be

Came to Blue Gator on a Saturday night. The waiter forgot to put in our order and then when we did end up getting our food. It didn't seem like it was freshly made. 👎👎👎👎👎 The table next to us also had issues with getting their food in a timely manner.
