Tried this restaurant for the 1st time today. And I already can't wait to go back! I had the meatloaf, mashed potatoes and gravy , Mac n cheese, and northern beans. it was all EXCELLENT! I highly recommend this place if you love southern home cooking. My mouth is watering thinking bout that plate.. lol. And the staff was very friendly.

The experience I had at Southern plate was indescribable. The place was so small. The pictures on the website site showed like a buffet type place and I did not really see a place for a buffet because it was so so small. It was hard to find I drove around for 20 minutes, trying to find a place. It was just ridiculous so I did not really eat. There was too sketchy for me.

The best meal I’ve had in a long time. Angie was an absolute sweetheart her warmth and hospitality instantly reminded me of home back in Alabama. She brought true Southern charm to match the rich, flavorful Southern cuisine. I can’t recommend this place enough. I’d gladly go out of my way just to come back. Now let’s talk about the star of the show: the oxtail. Tender, fall-off-the-bone. Served over a bed of buttery rice. It was the kind of dish that makes you close your eyes with the first bite. Every forkful was packed with flavor and cooked with care.
The sides were just as impressive, green beans that were seasoned to perfection, mac and cheese that was gooey and golden. Everything was made from scratch, and you could taste the love in every bite.

My friends and I stopped quite late in their lunch hour today after visiting Rainbow River. Quite simply, fantastic. The restaurant is quaint, homely, and welcoming. A daily selection of delectable treats await in the hot bar; when we were there it included fried chicken, fried ribs, meatloaf, oxtail, green beans, yams, stewed tomato, Mac n cheese, and deserts such as peach cobbler, sweet potato pie, and apple pie. I had the chicken, green beans, Mac, oxtail, and sweet potato pie. They were all divine, I couldn’t recommend it enough.
Finally the service was next level. Ms. Angie was kind, funny, and engaging. Furthermore since it was near the end of service she hooked us up with extra chicken they fried special for us.
Support local business and a local business owner. And, moreover, do yourself a favor and nourish the soul down at Southern Palate.
