We had a wonderful experience at Stumpknockers several weeks ago with a fairly large group. Our servers, Megan and Jessica, provided exceptional service from start to finish. They efficiently split our group into two tables so orders could be taken quickly, and they delivered our drinks and meals in a very reasonable amount of time. The food was excellent, and the service was so impressive that I asked to speak with the manager to share our appreciation. I highly recommend Stumpknockers and look forward to many future visits.
The wife and I went to this restaurant for my birthday dinner. We were greeted promptly and sat down. The waitress came over and introduced herself to us. She asked for our drink order. The drinks were brought to us by her trainee. We looked at the menu and decided what to order. I ordered the stuff flounder and my wife ordered the pork Tenderloin special The meal came soup and a salad. Our dinners were served and I noticed something different about my meal, it was different from my previous meal. It was soggy and it didn't taste the same. My wife's dinner was a disappointment to her. The service was just okay nothing to brag about, we asked if they had a birthday treat and told only if they sang to me, so I told no and never got a birthday dessert. It is unusual since the time alongside me they got a birthday dessert without any singing. Won't be going back anytime soon.
We had the BEST TIME!! WE ATE OUTSIDE.. right by the ramp down 2 the water... staff asked all our questions about the wildlife!!
EVERYTHING is good! Key Lime Pie is the best other than being in Key West, now that's a compliment! The drinks, atmosphere, and food are to die for.
Celebrated my girlfriend’s 60th Birthday there Saturday night…the place was packed and filled with happy customers ..a few other birthdays as well..the ribs were fall off the bone and the fried mushrooms were dynamite! I will definitely go back! They even presented my girlfriend with her slice of Birthday Cake with a hoot and HOLLER! Loved this too!
Excellent, everything. The appetizers/entrees excellent, very tasty, large portions. Very enjoyable. The surroundings, atmosphere relaxing.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Must-Visit Gem on the River! From the moment we walked into Stumpknockers on the River, we felt completely at home. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and every staff member we encountered was genuinely friendly. Service was lightning fast without feeling rushed — just perfect. We started with the Iced Tea and Lemonade, which were both refreshing and hit the spot. The grouper stole the show — unbelievably fresh, flaky, and seasoned to absolute perfection. The sweet potato was melt-in-your-mouth delicious, and the loaded baked potato was packed with flavor. We also tried the cream of broccoli and Cajun beef soups, and each one was hearty, comforting, and full of rich flavor. It’s rare to find a place where every single thing you try exceeds expectations — but this was one of those rare finds! We highly recommend Stumpknockers and can’t wait to come back again. Whether you're local or just passing through, be sure to check them out.
We went tonight actually, early Father’s Day dinner so I knew it would be busy . The hostess was kind of uptight . Seemed like she didn’t want to deal with us . Anyway Mona was our waitress , she was good , she was tired and it was the end of the shift , I get it . The vibe was old Florida and I really liked it but I’m paying for food and that’s what I’m reviewing. My daughter and I ordered fried shrimp dinners , my older daughter ordered Peel and Eat shrimp and my wife Catfish . My Shrimp plate had 7 shrimp and the breading was crumbling off them, same as my daughters . The baked potato was brown , the plates came with corn which was not the greatest . The peel n eat shrimp were rubbery . The Cat Fish was just ok . It was busy , we get it but it’s hard to ask for things needed , without seeming like your “ running the waitress” to death , for like butter , refills and napkins ect . When’s she’s already swamped . We sat patiently and kind waiting for food because it was busy but the food wasn’t even piping hot or anything, we were some of the last to be sat and ordered and that took over an hour , so it’s baffling . It’s just not for us .
After the third time to bring friends visiting from out of town, we will not be going back. The service is horrible, the outside chairs are uncomfortable and if your lucky to get a chair cushion (dirty). The plastic glass is stained making them disgusting. The drinking water taste like it's straight from the sewage. The food is served luke warm, however, the catfish is almost always served hot. If you are interested with the atmosphere it's nice to walk down to the river, but taking a picture near the fake alligator, it's smells like sewage near the building/AC unit. Enough is enough for us. Hope this review is taken in consideration from management to make some improvements.
We hadn't been there for quite sometime and were very disappointed in the overall horrible condition of the restaurant. Let me first start with the food. 3 of us had the combination fish platter and one had the sirloin steak. The steak was salty and the sides with the fish were barely warm. My being a senior citizen, I was concerned with the fact there was an unlevel area, a sunken brick flooring right as you walk into the screened in area. We were cautioned about it and we could see a large black fan was placed over part of it. The screened in area lacked eye appeal in everyway. There weren't enough cushions for every chair and the ones that were were disgustingly filthy! Gross to say the least. No surprise that when I went to the ladies room, it was unclean along with pieces of the wooden floor missing which created a trip hazard. When I go out to eat, I want cleanliness above all else. I can deal with a many things but I couldn't help but wonder if the neglect of what the public gets to see is so apparent, WHAT DOES THE KITCHEN LOOK LIKE, where I would hope for sanitary conditions. I hope this review and others like it gets read by the person/ people responsible and they really take a good look around. If the $$$ is coming in, then invest in the property to make it clean, and safe. Joann M.

Ate here today and was very disappointed with the food and condition of the restaurant. Ordered the seafood platter and the hush puppies were not cooked through, the fried fish was hard cooked and the crab cake wouldn’t even take a fork to it, the outer shell it was so hard. My opinion is the grease temperature was was to high?? Also the condition of the restaurant needs to have updates and remodeled. Disappointed with paying $52 On a positive note, the waitress was very attentive. Both my wife and myself gave it a C-
DO NOT COME HERE. THEY OVER COOK YOUR STEAK AND ABSOLUTELY REFUSE TO MAKE YOU ANOTHER ONE. THE OWNER IS THE BIGGEST A-HOLE. CUSTOMER'S ARE NOT TREATED WELL HERE. WHAT RESTAURANT REFUSES TO MAKE YOUR EXPERIENCE AND FOOD BETTER. SPENDING $30 ON STEAK, AND I CANT GET IT COOKED MY WAY, WTF.
Excellent variety of seafood offered. The stuffed flounder and Sea Scallops were very tasty. The staff was friendly and on point. They have comfortable interior seating and the option of outdoor seating too. This is at the top of my list for an authentic Florida seafood experience. Will be coming here often.
