JC's Riptides is a casual, dive-bar-style seafood spot serving fried, grilled, or blackened dishes. The owner is wonderful, and the staff, including one of the best waitresses, provides amazing service. The portions are big, and the prices are reasonable, comparable to big chains. The menu offers a range of options, including an early bird menu, and a full bar. Popular dishes include the Grouper special, rock shrimp, surf and turf, prime rib, and New York strips, all cooked to perfection. The rock shrimp is a highlight, though they may not always be available, so calling ahead is a good idea. The restaurant is simple, with a bar on the left and tables on the right, and the restrooms are clean and well-stocked. While the parking lot is rustic, there is great parking with plenty of spots. The food and friendly service make JC's Riptides a great spot for families and locals alike.
