We pulled in and parked. A man waived us down as we were crossing the parking lot. He said that we could only valet park. I asked where the restaurant parking was and he said “this is the restaurant parking” but you can’t park here. So we are parked, walking towards the restaurant, he told us that he was hired to manage the parking lot and unfortunately we could not park there but we are welcome to park elsewhere and walk to the restaurant. There is no way I will ever get my partner to go back there. I’m assuming he was going to take our keys and repark it? It’s a tiny parking lot, he could have moved it over a few spots or across. I’ve never been told basically to leave by someone managing the parking lot.

We’ve been coming here for several years. There has always been mist fans and other fans but last night was miserably hot. No fans in the tiki area or in other eating areas that I could see. Yes on the very small dance floor. But as before the remodel the dance was so small it’s hard to even dance. I really thought the redo would make it more comfortable. Nope just more seating areas.

I usually only give reviews if the food or service was excellent but this was not. If you want microwaved previously frozen food definitely go here and sit with the flies. Our appetizer came in its original microwave packaging and was still somehow cold. (spinach artichoke dip) It was also just really bad, think dry stouffers frozen spinach loaf. The gator bites were good my husband said. His seafood trio was not. The grouper tasted more like cheap frozen fish. Scallops same. Everything was too salty. My mahi tacos were supposed to be blackened but tasted like they had just italian seasoning with heavy oregano. They were cold. They had microwaved some congealed shredded cheddar cheese on them which somehow made them worse. Tried the “baked” mac n cheese but couldn’t stomach one more microwaved food item that was congealed/cold. The atmosphere was nice. Our waitress spent most of her time on her phone in the corner with other people running her food.

Cool atmosphere and good service. The kids chicken tenders were really good. I would stay away from the fish tacos. Two mahi tacos with no sauce or condiments for $20. Just plain shredded cabbage. I asked if I could get some mayo or salsa. $2 each for 2 tbsp cup

Review: Disappointed in Management at Sand Bar

After taking 24 hours to reflect, I feel it’s important to share my first ever negative review. I was extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Sand Bar, specifically regarding the behavior and professionalism of the manager on duty.

This past Friday night, the restaurant was very busy—which is understandable. However, the staff did not manage the situation well. I observed multiple tables sitting vacant for over 30 minutes while parties waited. On two separate occasions, I watched guests seat themselves without any direction from the hostess. The hostesses and waitstaff appeared confused and clearly frustrated.

Wanting to share what I was seeing in a respectful manner, I attempted to speak with the manager. Rather than listening or addressing the concerns, he became argumentative and ultimately asked me to leave. I was sober and did not use any inappropriate language. When I asked for his name or a business card, he refused to provide any information.

This was an extremely disappointing experience. I believe the manager on duty could benefit from additional training and support in leadership and customer service. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, as Sand Bar has the potential to do much better.

This place had some pretty yummy food. Just be warned that it's outside with a cover on top only. We went and the wind was pretty bad. Still, great service and would return on a calmer day.

Management is horrible and very unprofessional they hired me as a server and made me do the training then after my 3rd days the manager Colleen texted me after my shift and let me go because she said her boss didn’t want that many servers working. They made me leave my original job where I a had a garunteed position and now have left me jobless with no way to provide for my kids . They also tried to mark me as a no show when in fact I sure did show up and basically did everything for the servers that were training me. I do not recommend this place to anybody 👎🏼
