My sisters and I dined there. All three entrees were delicious but very small. We left hungry. I had the chicken roll entree, which was one chicken thigh, one baby carrot, one broccoli spear, and about five spinach leaves (menu called it a "spring salad"). I paid $23 plus tip for that. On the plus side, the experience gave us something to laugh about later. If we'd ordered appetizers and dessert, we would have probably left feeling fuller, but we didn't want to spend a fortune. If you have a lot of time and money, I'd recommend this bistro; otherwise, so somewhere else.

So fresh and so delicious, we can't wait to go again! We dined on a weekday night, and it was an excellent experience. Our server had great knowledge of the menu, including great food and wine suggestions. She even taught us about the chef technique regarding the vibrant green of the pesto, very fascinating. The best southern Italian food in the area, the chef and staff truly enjoy sharing their love for Sicily with guests and it shines through their service and food.

Vegetarian options: Several dishes do not contain meat, for example the Pesto Gnocchi.

Parking: Free public parking lot right across the way, as well as free public street parking.

Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free pasta available upon request.

We had tried several times to try this little Italian bistro but were always missing their open hours, until today. What a wonderful surprise! This is a very authentic Sicilian/Southern Italian gem of a dining experience. The food was absolutely delicious and tasted as though your Italian grandmother spent hours cooking on Sunday, made with love. We sampled a few dishes from the menu, pesto gnocchi, the eggplant Parmesan, and 2 of the daily specials, the pumpkin and ricotta raviolis and the most wonderful chicken with sweet peppers. All were amazing and so different than your typical Italian restaurant, who typically have carbon copy menus appealing to American-Italian diners. The service was great and very traditional European style, one dish at a time to enjoy the experience. I would not recommend dining here if you want a quick meal, as this place should be savored. The waitress Alessandra was what one would find in a small town in Italy, friendly, charming and full of quaint stories about her culture. The chef, Francesco, came to our table and brought us complimentary tiramisu, which of course was wonderful. Please try this restaurant for a unique and pleasant meal.

Finally! Real Italian food! We had the best experience, waitress was great, the chef/owner was amazing! The chef/owner came out to eat table and talked with us and even brought my daughter an extra plate of pasta with ragu! Prices are reasonable, pasta is homemade which is impossible to find anywhere in northeast Florida. I highly recommend this place.

Kid-friendliness: The chef/owner was great with my daughter, he gave her extra cheese and made her another plate of pasta because she likes the Rahul more than the pasta with olive oil. Waitress was very nice as well.

Ordered the veal, pizzaiola, dinner. Veal is veal, the sauce is the ingredient that will make it great. The sauce was amazing. So enjoyed my dinner. Wife had the crustacean pasta dinner. She gave me some of her pasta, best pasta ever. She said the seafood was incredible.

We will be coming back soon for another great meal or just a bite! Excellent wine selections along with authentic Sicilian charm, the food is exceptional, and as is the humble chef, Nicola. Alloro is a great location with authentic bistro selections. We had the home-made fresh pasta with pesto sauce. The flavors were as fresh as the pasta. Lasagna was stellar— the large portion was huge, plenty to take home!

The food was not good at all. We ordered the bruschetta, lasagna, swordfish rolls, and the pork rolls. Everything was very bad. I love Italian food and was excited the try this place, but I do not recommend at all. Additionally, the food took forever to be delivered. The only good part was the server, she was very nice.

4 stars for taste and 2 for price. The regular sized lasagna pictured was $28. I do feel as though it should come with a side salad for the price, however it was traditional. Gnocchi was good but I'm not sure if it was something to brag about. The bruschetta was compliments of the chef as a little appetizer. Waitress was friendly and did a good job. It was freezing inside so we sat on the patio and were the only customers there at 12 on a Saturday. I feel as though there's a lot of potential here with some re-evaulation. I would try it again in the future.

We had a fabulous late lunch here today and they were so kind to accommodate us even though they were closing in 20min. The service was great, and the chef was so kind and meticulous about the dishes he was preparing. Everything was delicious and carefully prepared. The wine was also very good. I wish we lived here so that we could frequent this little spot often! It's probably not a place you want to go if you want your food quick, but good fresh food takes time and it was certainly worth waiting for.

I really believe this place has a tremendous amount of potential. The service was wonderful. We had the pork dish. It didn't taste like it was freshly made but rather made ahead of time and then reheated. I was disappointed because I had high hopes. The potato salad was rather unusual. I looked up a variety of Sicilian potato salad recipes but found nothing quite like this one. Boiled potatoes with red onions and very very delicious olives. It was lacking in flavor but I really wanted to like it. I think it could use a bit more creativity. I enjoyed the drizzled olive oil and black pepper. The complimentary bruchsetta was absolutely amazing... thats how I know there is potential. It's quite possible we just ordered the wrong items. I would love to give the place a 2nd try. It's rather pricey for the portion sizes.

Understaffed; we think one person in the kitchen, all tables were full at our reservation time of 7 pm, two servers for about 10-12 tables. Took 15 min to place our order, 30 min to get our bottle of wine. One hour to get our appetizer. Two hours before 3 out of 4 entrees arrived, the last one 10 min after the first 3. Food was meh . . . I loved my lasagna but everything else was ok, just so-so. Overpriced for the quality of food. Very limited wine menu. They should add some acoustic tiles to reduce the noise.

Wonderful evening dining at this quaint restaurant. We started with the Orange & Fennel salad. This was very fresh and delicious. Next my husband had the Ragu which he loved. It was a chunky ragu full of flavor, see pic. I had the Sicilia which had cherry tomato’s and fresh herbs perfectly delicious. We ate every strand of their homemade pasta in our bowls. Next we shared the Veal PizzaIola. We both wished we weren’t sharing, it was so tender and delicious. We enjoyed a bottle of their Nere’ Sicilian Red wine with dinner. All was followed by a homemade tiramisu and double espresso. While we were stuffed we had to try it. See pic below. We loved everything…the owner was extremely kind & welcoming to all patrons as were the waitstaff. Delicious authentic Italian food done perfectly.

Don't go if your idea of Italian food is Olive Garden...this is Sicilian. Great Sicilian. We had several dishes and failed to get pictures of most. The fried grouper sandwich was fantastic. The Basil gnocchi was so fresh...in fact out gnocci was rolled in front of us . Can't wait to go back.

I'm sorry, but this was not a good experiance. I had the 3 crustacian pasta. It looked good on the menu, pasta with shrimp, crab and 1/2 a lobster. Unfortunately the dish was completely flavorless and the shrimp were really overcooked. My wife got the lasagne. The menu said they used egg noodles. Apparently authentic sicillion lasagne has boiled egg sliced up between the layers. She was not expecting eggs in her lasagne. The chef was nice. He came out to talk to us. Said he had a restaurant in Sicily and was going back as soon as he trained his staff. When he saw my wife only ate a small portion of her food, he offered to get her something else, but by then her appetite was ruined. He did give her a complimentary cannoli, so that was nice. I will say the caprese salad appitizer was very good and the staff was super nice. I have seen nothing but great reviews on here about this restaurant. Maybe I don't have the finely refined palette needed for authentic Sicillian food. We will have to give it a second chance someday. Hopefully it will be a better experiance and I can give a more favorable review.

Delicious fresh Italian food. A little expensive, but we’ll worth it! Love the Lasagna. We tried the pasta and a Focaccia Bread sandwich today. Give them a try!
