WAS one of my favorites locally. But first off, they randomly closed their doors permanently this past week. Worst part? No notice to their staff. Who does that? That move alone brings my rating from a 5 to a 1. I don't care how much I like your food, if you can't appreciate your staff and the fact that they have families to provide for enough to give them notice then you don't deserve even a single star. They have other locations, but I surely won't be checking any of them out. I hope they rectify the situation for their poor staff. I can't even imagine what a blow that has to be.

A sad day for us. We have been told Barbara Jeans has closed it's doors. We have eaten there once and sometimes twice a week since they first opened. We were "regulars".

We were very unimpressed with our dinner. My husband had crab cakes and he said they were decent. I had a vegetable plate and the veggies were very bland. In my opinion it was tasteless and over priced. The 2 stars is because our waitress was decent.

Perfect place to bring my parents who were visiting from out of town. Great home cooked style meals and friendly staff. We will definitely be back!

My fiancé and I went there for breakfast and we were immediately greeted by a hostess, who was friendly and efficient. We sit outside under the fans, it felt lovely and the view was great. However, the pleasantness pretty much ends there. The server came up to us and didn't give us a standard greeting, but instead asked if we had been seated for a long time and if anyone helped us. We said no, and she asked for our order immediately. We were not ready, so she came back in a couple of minutes and got out order. My fiancé just ordered a waffle and I ordered an omelette. My omelette was supposed to come with my CHOICE of side and bread, and when I ordered the server wrote it down and ran off and did not ask me what I wanted. I had to stop her and ask and then she wrote my preferences. Was she just going to pick for me, or give me whatever she felt like? Next, our food was delivered. The food was nothing to write home about, and hardly enjoyable. My omelette was like thick thick eggs at the bottom with some cheese and ham and a small egg folded over. The thickness on the bottom of the omelette was really gross. The potatoes were absolutely just a sliced up cooked potato. No seasoning, not even salt or pepper. Easy fix, right? Unfortunately, the salt shaker was all clumped up and you could not get any salt out at all. I included a picture of the salt lid. The biscuit I got seemed old, and almost tasted like corn bread. It could have potential had it been fresh. My fiancé's waffle was lukewarm, and did not come with butter as the menu said. We had to ask for it, and he got cold pads of butter he had to try to smear on the waffle. Our server never actually checked on how we were. At the end of our meal she said, "how was everything? Good. Here's your check when your ready." We didn't even have an opportunity to answer. I do not know why she was in such a rush because there was only 5 people in the entire restaurant. Maybe we should have taken that as a sign! With such a nice location, this place had such potential! I would not go back again, sadly.

The food here is edible, and bartender makes a good pour. The Caesar salad has a thin dressing that tasted good. The pumpkin bread was very sweet and good, but the whipped butter is cheap. The jalapeno laced rolls lacked jalapeno. The she-crab soup was as thick as gravy, spicy, but otherwise lacked flavor. The breaded coconut fried breaded shrimp was breaded. The restaurant is known for their crab cakes which were mushy and bland. The kid's friend chicken tenders were good, and the meatloaf was alright.

I eat here frequently and I can honestly say that I have never been disappointed with any aspect of my visits. Every single dish that I've had is delicious and all of the sides are so flavorful. I usually either get the chicken fried chicken, which is HUGE, or the vegetable plate because the sides are that good! Definitely a must try place if I'm the Yulee/ Fernandina area!
Food was amazing and plenty of it. Best fried fish I've had in a long time. Wait staff was friendly and accommodating. Less 1 star for cleanliness. Very down home atmosphere.

Very neat place to eat. The staff is super friendly and treat you like family. The menus great and the portions of food are always very satisfying. I recommend adding this to one of your dining nights if you stay nearby.

VERY RUDE STAFF!!!!!! I could not believe how RUDE the staff was to my family and friends last night as we were celebrating my nephews graduation dinner. We called ahead numerous times (3) planning this dinner but only getting treated like trash. Wrong orders, awful food, attitudes, and ripping us off of our change. Don't even bother going to this restaurant. Full of young non experienced waitresses with nasty attitudes. Very lucky had to stay professional or someone would have had to meet me outside. Trashiest place in Fernandina

This is my favorite place on the island to eat. Despite any poor reviews from a certain large party that was out of control, the staff handled them the best they could & has always their hearts in the job of food & beverage service. Amazing!
