First of all, the shrimp and grits are fire. That dish usually varies depending on the kitchen but I was not disappointed at all. It was so good. Our waitress was very friendly and even talked to us about the room you can rent upstairs, incase of a engagement soon šŸ‘€ haha. But in all seriousness we had a very pleasant dinner and I look forward to coming back.

Very good food, friendly service and pleasant ambiance, BUT as if it wasn’t enough to be charged for using a credit card, there was also a ā€œconvenience feeā€ added to our check as well. I saw no mention or explanation for this additional fee so for what ā€œconvenienceā€ are we being charged? We live locally and have many options of where to dine, so we will be going elsewhere in the future!

The food was great I had the veggie burger it was seasoned all the way through I added cheese. It was delicious. The potato salad was great too. I just wish I had more of the potatoes salad....Umm delicious.😁

My mother had their Fish sandwich she also like. The fish sandwich was so big with fruit and mixed greens on top and a little spice.

This is a great place to eat and great service we'll definitely go back I'm from out of town and I'm still thinking about it. A+

Cafe Karibo is the ultimate date night! There’s nothing like sitting on the patio under the beautiful trees, enjoying dinner and then just taking a short walk to the sunset! The staff is always so friendly & knowledgeable. I have experienced SO many special birthdays & celebrations over the years at Cafe Karibo! The Brunch every Sunday is delicious- they have the BEST grits! 10/10 would recommend this restaurant!

My wife and I have eaten here many times, and it has always been a pleasant experience. Great location downtown, good food and service.

Honestly it was fine, but not memorable in anyway. It has a nice place to sit outside, but that's about it. With so many great places in Fernandina, I would not settle for fine.

Kind of smaller portions and a bit too salty for what you pay. Dog friendly outside.

2025 update: Unfortunately, the owner is on the city council and has chosen to support paid parking for all of downtown. He owns multiple downtown restaurants (Duck Pinz, Baba’s, the Irish Pub, Gregor MacGregor's mini golf, Karibo, and others) and while the food and atmosphere is great, it is difficult to support establishments owned by a person actively working against the interests of his voters.

When out-of-towners ask me for a food recommendation, Karibo is my #1 recommendation. Karibo focuses on a tight, dedicated menu, but still has a little something for everyone. Dinner options are well-plated, well-seasoned, and contain fresh ingredients. If you aren’t in the mood for a larger dinner like grouper, scallops, or Korean BBQ Ribs, try a fresh salad, or sandwich options like, a Brie’zy Day (Honey Ham, Brie, Cranberry Relish) or a Nashville hot chicken sandwich. A table favorite is the Spicy Thai Noodles (served cold, and perfect for the hot weather!)

Wonderful patio space, and our server was great. However, the food itself really left something to be desired. I don't know if it was the spice and salt (really the lack thereof) or what, but the dishes were just meh, nothing that was memorable or that I'd think to order again. Which was surprising, given that it was recommended by the Omni resort (it's on their suggested itinerary). The food just wasn't particularly tasty or memorable.

I won’t support a restaurant that is for paid parking. Their new menu is not near as good as the old menu. They should bring back Tuna Shashimi.

Great little back patio! Server was good and the food was excellent. A lot of varied choices for different tastes at reasonable prices. Had the blackened mahi sandwich and will definitely be back to try other dishes.
