Lived here for 26 years but have only recently started frequenting Nassau Health Foods as I'm trying to switch to a mostly whole food plant based diet. Staff is always helpful and friendly. Only place in the county you can find Passion fruit, which I'd never heard of before but now use it in smoothies and love the flavor. Bought two bags yesterday.

Vegan breakfast burrito on Amelia Island, that says it all. They've been a stalwart here for years. New owner in the last year apparently but vegan options are still good. They included a to -go butter with the food, which is a no-no, but the food was tasty and fresh. Great outdoor sitting space too in addition to nice are inside.

Upon entering the establishment (that was busy), a manger or employee by the name TJ yelled from across the building asking me if my dog was a service dog.?‍ when I replied with a “yes” he then proceeded to say “if your service dog barks or jumps you will be asked to leave”. Causing a huge spike in my heart rate; my blood to drain from my face and hands. As I walked to get the 3 items I needed my beautiful, wonderful service dog, gave me my pitch warning that I would need to regulate so my medical conditions could regulate. As I was checking out, I communicated to TJ that his display of disrespect made my conditions worse and could have sent me to the hospital. He apologized and tried to argue to justify why he felt he could call me out in the crowded grocery store. Kindness and Understanding goes a lot farther than power. I feel like because of the way I dress and carry myself I was profiled as someone who wouldn’t need a service animal. I’m not sure if there are other health food stores on the island, but I do know that TJ, who might be a manger, made me extremely uncomfortable and unsafe, due to my need for a service dog.

I moved to Fernandina Beach 12 years ago. Was very happy to learn that Nassau Health Food was on the Island. The store has changed over the past years, but they always seem to be improving. The store owners seem to be hands on. This is a smaller store but perfect for Our Island. If visiting, you will find it warm and relaxing. They are currently doing some re-modeling to make even more improvements. They expanded The Amelia Fresh Cafe. You are able to eat inside or outdoors. They have a good selection of organic fruits and vegetables. They have spices and herbs. You can order a sandwich made fresh. The Chefs are very good. If you need general type of vitamins and health drinks, they have it. I recommend this store, you will not leave the store empty handed.

This used to be my favorite place to shop on the island. The attitude has changed completely since they’ve opened a coffee bar and are opening a wine room.If you want fresh hot coffee quickly by a friendly barista, go to Starbucks. If you want to wait 25 minutes for your latté, then this is the right place for you.I spoke to the manager K. He was rude, unprofessional and not interested in listening to or retaining customers.ATTENTION: All of their surveillance equipment also picks up conversations, according to the manager. So if you’re walking around the store watch out what you say!Otherwise, for the 30 years that I had been shopping there, the staff had been friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, won’t be back.

Very cute spot for when I was in town for the weekend. Great sandwiches, juices, and baked goods that actually taste great. The garden ambiance is perfect for getting some work done. Plus the staff are very kind and sweet, they made it a very homey experience! Shout out to the barista who helped me with figuring out the bus stops ✊?

Much or most of the food that they serve in the café is not organic. I ordered a smoothie yesterday and it was really terrible. I don't know who is teaching their staff how to make smoothies and coffee but that was bad and they wouldn't refund my money.I had a problem with one of their barista's and spoke to the manager and he was extremely rude. So this is not my favorite place right now.The manager and I were talking about PUP cups for dogs. He said that they don't like to give pup cups to dogs because they have so much fat in them and because it's not healthy for them And I wonder, why do they serve full fat, dairy products and foods and their pastries in the café are super super sweet and they put whip cream on peoples drinks, so that was just a stupid comment. Anyway, I didn't like the way he talk to me or the way he dealt with the situation which was that he didn't deal with it.They're a small supply of health foods or a fairly good variety. And they've opened a wine and expensive cheese area, even though the manager seems to be so worried about what's healthy for us. Ha ha haMost of the staff is very friendly but I've been going there for as long as they've been open and I was shocked that the manager was so rude to me.
