My gf and I had the duck enchiladas and the lamb. Both meals were probably the best meals we had in months! Also the service was great!! Highly recommend!

Incredible food, atmosphere, service, and everything. It was recommended as the best place in downtown Amelia Island by our Uber driver so we decided to give it a try. To start, they bring out free tostadas and salsa. The salsa had such an excellent spice to it. We were recommended to try the organic margarita and we also ordered the specialty margarita. Both were excellent, the organic margarita was the best though. I ordered the lamb barbacoa which was extremely tender and fell right off the bone. Apparently, the chef slow roasts everything from the night before. Now let's talk about dessert. Unfortunately, they were out of tres leche cake so we decided to order the churro cake which was the special. If they have this when you go, you have to get it. Easily one of the best desserts I have ever eaten. Our waittress was so sweet and knowledgeable about the entire menu. If we were locals, we'd come back here again and again.

Great margaritas, Great atmosphere and great food.
I will admit that I was skeptical of Mezcal Spirit of Oaxaca at first. Some of the best Mexican I’ve had has been from a dilapidated food truck or little old lady, and when Mexican becomes a little pretentious, I tend to wonder if the meal will be worth the up-charge. I am happy to report that Mezcal Spirit of Oaxaca seems to have gotten the balance right! Maybe it shouldn’t be a surprise because the owner had Pablo’s (now closed) for many years before opening this new establishment. He obviously learned a thing or two about a balanced menu and what people like. The table favorite was the Camaron Diabla (spicy shrimp --but be forewarned, the dish is quite spicy!) Not in the mood for spice? Try the Carne Con Mole or the Chimichanga. Want something a little lighter? Try the street tacos! Table is served with fresh salsa and homemade, real-whole, tortilla chips. Top your meal off with Abuelo’s Margarita (made with a secret, delicioso recipe!)

Maria M. was our server this evening, and I would like to give her a special shoutout! She was so knowledgeable about the menu and gave great recommendations. It was a breath of fresh air to have a server that so clearly cares deeply about the food she serves. Thank you Maria!

The Mezcal staff were excellent. We were a party of 9 but still seated promptly without the expected wait which we were prepared for. The food was absolutely perfect, the portion size was generous and it was quick to arrive at our table, with no one waiting on their dish to arrive. Our waitress Charlie promptly greeted us and frequently checked in on us. She was very friendly and professional. We will certainly be returning for more visits in the future and will be requesting Charlie as our server.

Incredibly delicious food. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Drove here 45 minutes away from home, arrived at 8:45 PM on a Sunday. We walk in and are greeted by the manager who informs us the kitchen is closed because “it’s been slow”. Posted hours stated it was closing at 10 pm. I understand 10 minutes before, but well over an hour before close is unacceptable. You can’t conduct business when it’s convenient for you. It just shows how little they respect their customers. We used to come here twice a month. Absolutely ridiculous and I can assure you I will tell everyone and I will never be back.

Wow — what an incredible experience at Mezcal! From the moment we walked in, the service was warm and welcoming. We started with appetizers and corn ribs — absolutely bursting with flavor — and the Birria tacos were hands-down some of the best we've ever had. Every bite was perfection.
We’re visiting from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and honestly, Mezcal outshines even some of the top new spots in Miami. This place is a hidden gem and deserves serious recognition.
BRAVO TO THE CHEF — the creativity, presentation, and taste are all next level. Mezcal, PLEASE bring a location to Fort Lauderdale — we’d be first in line!
Can’t wait to come back!
