Surcheros - Fernandina Beach, FL

Order online. I came past pick up time so it would be ready. It was not. I couldn't get any acknowledgement by the two employees. They were waiting on a group of men having a conversation with the female employees cussing. I went to the restroom and came back. A employee finally asked me who I was here for I told her the order name and she began making my order. Unfortunately I ordered a grilled burrito with grilled toppings. The employee decided I wasn't getting it. Once I recieved my order I noticed it was awful light for a Surcheros burrito. I opened to find a little burrito half the size it usually is. The two employees were talking about the other employee gets off at 3:30 well who gets off at 4. All I wanted was my whole order.

My burrito did not have the ingredients that I ordered and I dug through it to find 4 very small pieces of chicken that was it.

There is a fountain leak I am assuming because the whole area is wet with a wet carpet thrown over it and a yellow cone. It smells really bad.

I am not impressed . I did not eat it. A wasted lunch break and I'm so hungry. This was supposed to be my birthday present.

The employees don't have name tags and won't tell their names.

* The manager is very nice and was very appologictic about this location. He has been there for 2 months and is fixing it. He sounded very sincere. He said he would hook me up and was just very pleasant to speak with. Definitely wish him the best.

We have never eaten at a Surcheros before, so trying to evaluate what to order was tough. First bite of crunchy taco with ground beef, I was shocked how delicious it was! The entire time I was eating it, I was trying to see if something specifically was standing out as to why it was so good, but I think it was just a great combination. The shell held up pretty well and didn’t get soggy or crumbly. The ground beef was seasoned perfect; it wasn’t spicy at all, but had plenty of flavor. The pico and the corn salsa were delicious and fresh. On the flour tortilla I got everything the same except I got the grilled chicken. The chicken also had a great flavor to it, but I probably wouldn’t bother getting the flour tortilla again because the crunchy was so good. The only thing I was disappointed in the food at all was the fact that it was not Warm. The ground beef I think might’ve been slightly warm, but the chicken felt cold.
My husband was disappointed because he asked for a soft corn shell for his second one and he got flour.
Other than the fact of the taco shell mistake, the meats not being warm, all of the tables were messy, I thought it was a little crazy that they were packing up all of the drinks like tea at 7:15 and they don’t close until 8 l:00. I guess that’s OK if you only wanted a fountain drink and it was fine for us because we didn’t order a drink, but I would be very unhappy if I wanted tea and they already cleaned it up.
We will definitely be back!

They have a new manager named Salomon in there! He’s super friendly, and he made my food to perfection! Thank you again! I will be back.

My first time to Surcheros.
Loved my bowl. Fresh, built to order and delicious!! I liked the variety of choices offered online.

I came in tonight to purchase a gift card and an order of chips and queso to bring home. The girl at the register handled my money and then opened the chip bags with her gloves, that she just handled the money with and put chips in the bag. She shoved her whole hand in the bag before she added the chips. I don’t think that’s very sanitary.

Food was ok, but service was absolutely terrible.

One word. Dirty

First off I absolutely love this place, when I go there during the day everything always tastes amazing and they have plenty to choose from. However I went there tonight at 7:15 and they close at 8:00. That is 45 minutes until closing time. They were out of steak, beef, both rices, and pinto beans. They said cant make anymore. Now I was going to order about $30 in food and I am just one person. Imagine how many people come in and out within 45 minutes. This is not the first time this has happened. It sounds like the food prep estimations need to be revisited. I ended up going to Chipotle which to me is no where near as good. I was very disappointed tonight. I normally don't get off work till 7ish and it appears I cant get my weekly surcheros as they will be out of food if you go past 7. I would understand if it was 745 but 45 minutes before closing, I dont understand that.

Food was way to expensive. The food you get is not good at all just seems like low standards on food quality. I'll save yah 20$ for a burrito bowl and a drink don't come here.

The steak burrito was delicious. The chips were fresh and crisp. The garlic salsa is the best.

The employees look like they hate working there, the portions are small, the rice is nearly rock hard and the food is cold. This is my 3rd time and it is consistently not good. I’m sticking with chipotle.

Tried again for the third time, food is consistently bad. Definitely take the drive over the bridge to chipotle or moes

Very small portions. Stale chips. RIPOFF
