Step back in time to the 1960’s! This seafood restaurant has been a Ft. Lauderdale landmark for decades. The interior has never been remodeled, and that is part of the charm. Honestly, the decor is a little rough with bright lighting, carpeted floors, and wooden beams. But…what a fun experience, and if you order correctly, a very good experience. Catfish Dewey’s has excellent fried seafood, anything “Blackened” and the best priced (and freshest) Stone Crab Claws in town (you can check the daily price per pound on their website). Everyone agrees that one of the best parts of the experience is the unlimited complimentary hot Fried Hushpuppies and icy-cold Coleslaw. The best sides are the Baked Sweet Potato or French Fries. Check your attitude at the door, and go along for the ride!

Love Catfish Dewey's for their Stone Crab! A true value for a good meal. The place is old but its clean, service i good and the food is always up to par.

One of the best seafood restaurants in Fort Lauderdale. Great value and always the freshest. We had the stone crab claws. Big large ones! The collard greens were also excellent. Great service.

First time here, seafood offerings were plentiful, and delicious. Casual place, with all you can seafood items. Only issue we had was limited parking. But we waited and found a spot.

Excellent food every time and a great value. A no frills seafood spot but service is great and so is the food.

Catfish Deweys was such a pleasant surprise! Found it own my own but would highly recommend it! Food was great! Service was equal to food and value!! Portions were incredible!

I want to love this place because it's in my neighborhood but it can't compare to some of the fisheries around town. Everything taste old the fish is chewy. The french fries are greasy and rubbery. I wish it was better. We've eaten there many times but it's really not great and definitely not worth the money. People seem to love it. Especially the “all you can eat”. Disgusting!! We did try the scallops once and they were terrible. Like rubber! Over cooked or even probably frozen.

We came here with a friend who visits the area often and recommended this place. We tried it a few years ago at his recommendation and was not impressed but he insisted that we try it again. We split a combination plate of fish, scallops and shrimp and a side of Mac and cheese. Service was extremely slow and it was not crowded on a Sunday afternoon. The only thing that was good was the Mac and cheese and a few shrimp - the rest of the shrimp was tasteless and batter was soggy - it is a little over priced for what you get and after two times of not being impressed, we will not return and would not recommend.

Food was delicious! Stone crab, catfish, steak, all very good. Hush puppies much better than ones I had elsewhere

Lunch 10/22/2025. Eventually the waitress arrived with our complementary hush puppies. We have no waters. The waitress returned with my wife's $12 call drink and a water. An eternity later our food arrives. I ordered a sweep potato and got a regular potato, overcooked. Toward the end of our meal we ask our absentee waitress if we can have the cole slaws that were to come with the meal to go.
After 21 years in South Florida, Catfish Dewey's is off our list. The food isn't that special and we don't like neglectful service.

There is nothing new to post about the consistency of Catfish Dewey. This is one of those restaurants that figured out how to keep their customers happy. Great seafood, sides and drink options. I had the gumbo as a starter and found it a little too salty otherwise everything was good as usual.
