Had to wait 45 minutes after our reservation time to be sat and then another hour and fifteen before we had any food.
Serafina is one of my top seafood / italian restaurants in the Fort Lauderdale area. The entry is unassuming and takes you down an alley to a charming waterfront enclave where you are immersed in great food, great views, and great service. It's a must visit.
I was celebrating a birthday and made sure to mention it in the reservation, but it wasn't acknowledged. We originally booked an indoor table, but after seeing the view outside, we asked to be seated there instead and they kindly accommodated us, which was nice. The food was great, but I was disappointed that the birthday wasn't recognized or celebrated.
Had a nice relaxing dinner, felt that we were having a private dinner. Very authentic food and drinks/wine. The perfect location for an intimate date night.
The waiter, Joe, was fantastic. The food there is not what it was prior to the original owner. No iced tea? Machine is broken Joe said and has been dor a while. The last time I checked, you could boil water and drop in some tea bags. Voila, you now have iced tea. To me that shows a lack of interest in the business by the current ownership. I've been going to Saragina for at least 20 years but it's time to look for somewhere new. Again, Joe does all he can to make it a great experience.
Always great place just needs a little more room. I understand they open next-door, but I think they should extend it together and make the bathrooms easier to get to for elderly people.
Service was good. We ordered the Caesar and the tomato/mozzarella salad as our first course. The tomato and mozzarella was wonderful; my husband felt like the Caesar was way overdressed. My husband had the veal parm. It was huge and he enjoyed it. We took the leftovers with us. I had the branzino and while it was good, it wasn't overly impressive and would try something else. Would we come back? Probably, but we would try other restaurants in the area before making a second visit.
Definitely a neighborhood gem! Sitting dockside, enjoying breeze, attentive, friendly customer service. No rush—just old fashioned dining out with friends.
The small sized outside waterfront patio was the best part of the evening. Service was simply adequate (no smile, no real communication regarding specials/suggestions etc). The food was at best - fair. Served just warm, watery pasta & clams - no real flavor. Overcooked sausage & peppers. Food served very quickly - no real time to relax and enjoy cocktail & appitizer. Quality & service low - price High. One & done.
We've been going to Serafina for four years. In the beginning the restaurant was excellent. Nevertheless, this time we were greatly disappointed with the food and environment. The food. Those of us who ordered cannoli felt immediately that the cream was too sour and seemed to be already spoiled. Later on, those people had stomach problems all night long. Gnocchi were badly cooked. They tasted like plastic. Chicken Marsala were whatever, but not the way this dish should be. The environment. Three out of 6 guests were allergic. All of them could smell mold just entering the restaurant. Also, on the way back they smelled fresh paint. All in all, we were greatly disappointed and embarrassed with Serafina. Our guests came from New York to celebrate my birthday. It looks like the management or the ownership of this place has changed. We will never go there again.

Food was regular Italian food, good but nothing special. Restaurant was mostly empty for dinner. Not a good choice for a special occasion. Will not return.
Don't judge the place from the outside. It is a hidden gem. Old world italian ambiance on the water. Our server was fantastic. We sat outside on the water eating great italian food with great service, you can't ask for more than that.
I ordered through DoorDash and, unfortunately, was very disappointed. I agree with another reviewer that the pizza tasted like plastic, and the dough had a strange flavor and texture. I normally would just let it go because I ordered through DD, but pizza is usually hard to mess up—and somehow, this place managed to make that happen.

The food and service is always wonderful at Serafina. Delicious food all prepared "with love" as my wife would say. It's hard to beat a water view as well. I am Italian and I absolutely adore their take on classic dishes and everything is always very fresh.
The food here is just not very good. Between us we ordered the Salmon Limone, the Lasagna, and the seafood ravioli. My Salmon with the Dijon mustard sauce was just overwhelming with mustard sauce. No-one thought their lasagna was very good. We also ordered Caesar Salad and that was just drenched in the Caesar dressing. The service was very good and the view on the intracoastal is good. Prices are high but they give you huge portions....no-one could finish their meal. So, if you are willing to trade-off ambiance and service for poor food, then, this is for you. Me, I won't be back.
