This was my first time here. I recently moved to Oakland Park and I've been checking out different restaurants. My nephew who is a former chef saw their website and decide we'd try it. Couldn't be happier that we went last night for dinner. Loved the ambience ....live music...service was the best and the food was absolutely wonderful !! Best food I've had yet. I definitely recommend it for a great night out.
Always a wonderful experience, food is exceptional, Very comfortable, cozy restaurant, music a few nights a week very entertaining really can't beat it,, the owners are always there to speak with you. They come over to the table to find out how everything is, which I think is a great touch. Come and enjoy yourself. You won't be disappointed. Jeff. H
Visited here for the first time on Tuesday and decided to visit again over the weekend. Both times sat at the bar, food was very tasty and service was superb on both times by two different bartenders. Will definitely stop by again
We were a party of six. Everyone was pleased with their food..from did to pasta. Our waiter was terrific. Nice guy. The only complaint is the restaurant tends to be loud. Frankly the singer could go and some background music would be fine. I know the owner likes to sing as well but it's not needed.
The short rib special was way overpriced at $62 and excessively fatty. I am aware meat prices have risen but charging much more than Steak or Veal chop for this cut is absurd. It is now obvious why the special blackboard didn't show prices. The server should have informed when prices are this high for special.
This was our second visit, this time with my son, his wife, and grandkids, on vacation from Italy. They were very pleased with the food and ambience. It was like being in Italy for us all. I am recommending Dal Contadino Trattoria if you are looking for a true Italian experience
Overpriced and mediocre. Parmigiano had mold all over it. Not sure what kind of Italian restaurant doesn't have fresh cheese. All of the food was undersalted and bland. The calamari texture was off, it might've been frozen and then reheated. It was mushy and crumbling apart. Maybe it's good for Florida standards, but it was $200 for 4 people for 2 apps and entrees and it was very disappointing for anyone with a sensible palate. Go here if you don't care. It won't be good and it won't be great.
Great dinner! Local Italian place in a strip center but friendly service snd good food and generous portions made for an enjoyable dinner. The “singing chef” and live music was entertaining but very loud. If you are bothered by that ask to sit in back. As a weekend visitor to the area it was a welcome change from the hotel dining options and the pricey touristy places.
Hadn't been to Dal Contadino for a while but it didn't disappoint- loved the food and the singing chef and the wait staff were very attentive and helpful . Music a bit too loud to enjoy a chat but it was Saturday night after all
Dal is always good. One thing I did notice was the flounder fillet was 1/2 the size as usual. I'm sure this is because of Biden-omics. Sitting in the back room was much better noise-wise then sitting in the main dining room.

Dal Contadino Trattoria is only 10 minutes from the theater where we attended a magic show downtown Ft Lauderdale. We went in for a quick Italian dinner before the show. My date and I both ordered the Chef's special: The Pasta El Pesto Lingure. This dish uses thick pasta tossed in a creamy pesto sauce and grilled chicken chunks. The pesto was so creamy and fragrant, So delicious. We were in a rush for our show so we didn't have anything else. The wait staff knew that we were in a hurry so service was swift. I highly recommend this restaurant - delicious food and great service. We will come back to sample other items on the menu.
Great traditional Italian dishes! Dal Contadino Trattoria is my new favorite Italian restaurant. I was so delighted that the stuffed zucchini flower was on the menu. I have never had stuffed zucchini flowers so we gave it a try. They were so deliciously creamy and tasty. We also shared the grilled vegetable salad, which is my favorite. The grilled eggplant, artichoke hearts, and zucchini were so good. I ordered the lamb chops for the entree, and my date had the chicken parmigiana. The chicken was super tender and juicy, the best chicken parmigiana I have ever tasted. We finished our dinner with coffee and tiramisu. Everything was superb - the food, the service, and the guitarist playing beautiful songs in the background. Highly recommended.
We dine at this Italian restaurant quite often and the food, service and atmosphere continues to be excellent AND, extremely reasonable price wise. Try the Lobster pasta main course...none better at a very fair price! Enjoy the live music and family fun environment...you wont be disappointed!
The flounder Contadino was delicious as always, and the artichoke appetizer was excellent as well. Our server, who has been there for years and he's very professional, was fine, but the kitchen had very poor timing last night. Mind you I've been to this restaurant 50 times. It was a Thursday night they were half empty. I know the chef owner has opened yet another restaurant in town, and I congratulate him on his success there and it is other restaurants. But somebody needs to go back and pay attention to what's going on at the original because this night It took two hours for us to be served two courses.
Had a black squid ink pasta with octopus in a red sauce as a main course for $29 that was phenomenal. Accompanied with a red Sardinian wine the was 50% off from $46 to $23 which was delicious. There was also melodic live music, not too loud. Great Italian restaurant and value.
