Edelweiss European Bakery & Cafe

This place does look cozy and does seem like it has good bread as another review said. However if you're eating at the cafe, their menu lists a few vegan options (it has a section titled "VEGAN"), and of the one I ordered, a beyond burger, it came with mayo and I had to get it replaced. On top of this, you have to pay at the counter, they do not give you the bill. This made paying and leaving take way longer than it should because it is the same counter that people order their bread, which is a whole process that can take a while Overall I am rating it 2 stars because of blatant false advertising and frustrating customer service, but the server was very friendly and replaced my food and the bread tasted somewhat nice.

The Multi Grain bread is really good. The buns (Broetchen) are horrible. Acually they are not Broetvchen.

Although they have a few good things at this store, their hours are ridiculous. I don't know how they stay in business closing 5 days a week at 3p and closed altogether on Sundays. The only customers who could shop there would have to be retirees or work/live very close by to meet the 3pm closing time.

Went in cause i saw they had fresh bread for a good price. Picked up a loaf of sourdough. Got home and cut some to make a sandwich only to realize it was not sourdough. The bread did not have pockets or bubbles of air like sourdough is supposed to have. This was just a dense bread made with baking soda. The crust was also not crunchy and very chewy bread was probably a day old at least.

It was alright. Wasn’t bad but wouldn’t revisit either.

It was my first time walking into this place… no hello no welcome. Everyone in this establishment is rude and racist! They payed me no attention. I was waiting for ten minutes while the lady is crouched on the floor and I see a mother and her older son they spoke Russian and of course the lady tends to them and still pays me no mind and they just talk for another 5-10 mins as their paying for their stuff and legit still nothing so I walked out. Terrible atmosphere! Food looks old. I’m glad I left I’ll take my business to an establishment that actually cares about all of their customers. Also for an FYI to the lady at the counter I speak Russian too!

I stopped in to get some bread pretzels but also got a loaf of country rye bread and some apple streudel. They had a huge selection of bakery goods and a nice seating/dining area. I could have sat down and ordered everything in the display to taste it. Everything looked delicious. Unfortunately, I didn't have time. They also had a selection of cold meats and cheese as well as German beer, my favorite. If I lived closer, I would have to stop here every day.I asked about their walnut cranberry bread but it's only available on Friday. I'll be back on Friday! And, they only have pumpernickel by pre-order.

Great place. The staff is amazing and their food is great. Especially their bread, tastes just like home. I only wish I've found it earlier.
