Wow...this was an amazing place to come for some dessert. I visited this location of Fireman Dereks for my first-ever Yelp Elite Event and it did not disappoint. After checking in I received a giant goody bag from the two friendly staff working in the evening. I got a slice of key lime pie, cake in a jar, a giant cookie, and a hat. Luckily, I brought two friends to share with me because I would definitely not have been able to finish it all myself. Every single item tasted amazing and satisfied all of my sweet cravings. Their pies looked especially good. I would come back to try their coconut cream pie or NY-style cheesecake. This seems to be a new location and it deserves to get all the attention. The store is clean and has ample seating. Can't wait for my next visit

The key lime pie was oily and grainy. Also the A/C temp in there is basically like hanging out in a refrigerator.

I can’t believe I paid so much for something that went straight to the trash. One of the worst cakes I’ve ever tasted. The cake is gummy and flavorless. The frosting is terrible too. I never write reviews but this was so bad and so expensive I just had to.

I’ve been purchasing desserts from here for the past year at least once or twice a month. Lately the serving size has been smaller and quality not as good especially the red velvet cheesecake. I just bought a slice today at the at it was smaller than Cheesecake Factory slice and was not set, the middle of the cheesecake was runny, yuk!

What happened to this place? I used to make it a point when I'm in the area to get something from Fireman Derek's. Not after today. The person working there looked like she couldn't be bothered. The chocolate cookie was not good, it usually is. Grasshopper pie was also highly disappointing. This place is not as good as it used to be. Hope the other locations are not like this. Will not be back. Saaaaad.

I am so sad to do this because a few years back my husband introduced me to this place and it was delish (the Miami location) came to the fort Lauderdale location a few times and each time the service was lackluster. Same complaint unfriendly people who don't greet you and act like you are a burden. The dessert used to be so good but I paid $16 for a piece of the grasshopper pie and a cookie. The pie tasted sour like it had gone bad. The cookie was hard and not good at all. In fact I asked for a peanut butter one and thought that's what I was getting but the girl clearly didn't know or care what she served. So what a waste of money and time. I won't be back sadly. I highly recommend going elsewhere. ?

Anything you try here will be delicious, but it just depends if you want to splurge the prices are rather high in my opinion don’t even get me started on the price of a whole cake or pie. Perhaps they should look into having deals or something to combat high prices.

I tried the key lime pie, chocolate cake, and carrot cake. They are all incredible. My favorite is definitely the chocolate, but you can not go wrong with any of them. I definitely plan on coming back and trying the whole catalog. This is easily the best bakery I've been to in Florida The service was great, and the prices were reasonable. The building is a bit hard to find, I had to use my GPS and lucked into finding it.

I always thought Fireman Derek's original Wynwood location was overrated and nothing particularly special but figured I'd try the Fort Lauderdale shop. We ordered what I was told were the two most popular pies; The Grasshopper Pie and The Cookie Monster. Both were pretty good and though I've had the Mint (Grasshopper) pie before it was better on this occasion and The Cookie Monster was also better than pies (and cakes) I have had from their Miami locations. The sole employee was unfriendly and sour. The price was almost $12 a slice which included a service fee for the grouchy counter guy.

Overall, meh, not worth $12 for a slice of cake. The guava and cheese cake was good, not great... Peter Pan Diner has quality cakes and pies all homemade for $5-7... and why are no prices posted? Will it be $15 next time? When I asked the girl behind the counter she literally rolled her eyes before rambling off some numbers. And there's no coffee or tea option. You get Coke or chocolate milk options. All the cakes were pre sliced and stored in a fridge so you couldn't even see what you're buying. When I asked how big the slice was she said really generous. But literally CCF cake slices are bigger. Then the forced gratuity called "service charge" was an insult. One girl ran the computer and the other took the cake out of the fridge. We were the only 2 there. The place was freezing and we had to try to talk over the 2 girls laughing and talking loudly. What service did you provide that your hourly wage didn't cover? As a local, I like to support local... but not with over priced cake, bad service and forced gratuity. I'll buy a $12 publix cake next time and have leftovers.

Place was garbage. Dont even serve coffee and charged me 21 bucks for 2 pieces of cake which were honestly not worth $5 total. Place is ice cold you wouldnt wanna sit there and eat. Its like siberia. Ive been in prison I had better qaulity cakes made by an inmate. Seriously this is garbage.

I was exorbitantly charged $11 for a small piece of pastry that was already packaged in plastic and added a three dollar service fee for just picking it up from one end and handing it over to me from the counter. The price was so not worth it.

Went to this place looking for a recommended red velvet cake. We walked into the place and the staff never welcomes you. They stare at you and don’t even greet you back when you greet them. I ordered a piece of red velvet cake and was going to eat it in there. I felt so unwelcomed that I just packed my stuff and left. If I could rate no stars I would. Worse customer service I’ve ever experienced. Never going back.
