Awesome experience. I found this hidden gem right on the runway of the Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport. It was such a cool experience to walk in, and you're literally right next to the runway. I got there on a Saturday around 8:30 am, and there was absolutely no wait. A lot of reviews speak of long wait times. I guess it all depends on when you get there. Early bird gets the worm as they say. Breakfast was good. The food was good. It's not great, but it's good...

Located conveniently outside the airport, this café offers an average selection of food that feels reminiscent of a mom-and-pop diner. While the dishes aren’t particularly memorable in taste or presentation, the coffee and lattes stand out, especially with the fun touch of rock candy on a stick for sweetness.

The real draw here is the view: you can watch planes take off, land, and taxi up close, making it a unique spot to relax before or after a flight....

I grew up in the 50's and our main entertainment, as we were poor, was a trip to the greater Pittsburgh Airport to watch the planes take-off and land. Cheap entertainment for a bunch of kids. The runway Cafe, apart from the great breakfast and lunch offerings, gives me that same thrill. Just on a smaller scale.
