Food was OUTSTANDING. Loved the Cafe experience. Owner chef great guy. Great food. Sister is waitress so it's a family affair. Maybe that's why this service was excellent to match the food. The menu changes daily although I was advised that if I called a day or two ahead they would perhaps make what I would want to eat. I also love the fact I could bring my own wine to enjoy with my meal.I had them cater a party for me before covid and they did a super job. Hopefully Coleman will allow us to have our wedding and I definitely will have them through the catering. Great little out of the way place like nothing I have been able to find it for Lauderdale.

We have been here many times since it opened. Chef Chris, owner as well as chef is the bomb. His menu is posted each morning and changes daily. There are always homemade soup and scrumptious desserts made by his sister I am told. If you call ahead a day or so, he will try to honor requests. They have unbelievable salads and burgers to die for. After my third or fourth visit I was told by another customer that we could bring our own wine beer or whatever. For us it just upped the game. One of the organizations I belong to uses the cafe for our dinner meetings. Chef Chris is great at finding a menu that will fit our budget. Bring your own drinks really saves a bundle. A friend of mine had small wedding there. Since it had an outdoor patio as well as inside it was really nice. We also had chef Chris cater Christmas party for us. Again awesome. Glad I found Tarpon River Cafe. The service Excellent. It's a small Fifties house turned into cafe that makes you feel at home. There is no rush so you can stay and talk and hang without being rushed. Parking is it a problem as they pretty much have whole block. Almost forgot, I'm busy days during the week I order ahead and they always have the food waiting for me when I'm not able to stay. All meals are $11. Comes with either homemade macaroni salad oar House salad. They also are open for lunch the first Saturday of every month. Every time I've been there it's quite a little party going on. Hats off to Chef Chris. Wednesday is Vegan day.

AvaThanks

The food at Tarpon River Cafe is so terrific that you believe you are in a gourmet restaurant but that isn’t even the best part of the experience. You can chose from fancy to comfort food while being seated in a comfie spot where you can actually converse with one another without the usual downtown loud-speak common in restaurants so close to the Courthouse and Broward General Hospital. If you want to relax while you choose from the diverse and everyday is different menu, this is your spot! Enjoy

What a diamond in the rough. This cafe is a couple of blocks from where we live and I've been meaning to go and check it out. Now that I have, I can't believe I haven't gone sooner. The owner and chef came out and talked to us to explain how the place works and today's menu. He is very nice and friendly and as it turns out an exceptional chef. The menu is small by design and changes every day. The food we had was fresh and delicious. You've got to find this place and go. It won't be easy because they're only open from 11:30 to 2:00 something. Work it into your schedule, it's worth it.

Great dining experience! The owner Chris and his sister were very personable and extremely attentive, I think my iced tea never went 3/4 full, I was very pleased and surprised to receive that level of service in a fast casual style restaurant, my wife and I have spent hundreds at supposed 5 star establishments and we only saw the server 3 times - take the order, bring the food, and receive the check, very differentiated experience. Now onto the food! I had the chicken taco and it was very good, the produce was fresh and chicken was very tender, I had some hot sauce the owner recommended and it gave it just the right amount of heat, really, really complimented the dish! We had a nice fresh side salad too which again was very fresh and fun of flavor, the iced tea that I had earlier was also just as fresh, I even got a to-go cup which of course the server proactively offered. The icing on the cake of course had to be the cake! We had a triple chocolate cake that was out of this world! Very moist and Zero Dryness, great icing too! Not over powered by sweetness. Overall 10/10! I will be back!

Off the beaten path and great food. Open one Saturday a month and lunch during the week. Extremely accommodating owner/chef/caterer with a long list of repeat catering customers.

Great little place for lunch. Food is delicious and the service is friendly and efficient. I had the biggest grilled cheese sandwich with tomato & bacon and a side of delicious homemade pasta. All the dessert sounded delicious... I settled on the chocolate cake & that was delicious too!!! I will definitely be back for more. Thank you to Beth & Chris!
