Buonissimo!!!!!!!!Elegant and romantic place, next to the river, especially in the evening. There were many delicious dishes, such as the Brussels sprouts, the artichoke heart, and the salmon tartare with mango. Super good!!!!!!! Divine!
The salad was nothing special, but everything else was absolutely delicious. We will definitely be back.
The artichoke reminded me of one I had in Rome years ago. The food was magical, and the staff were incredibly friendly.

Great tasty food. Very cozy atmosphere inside, we would love to be outside but for a Saturday brunch it was too hot outside.

The drinks were delicious and spot on also reasonably priced. You can’t get a better view and outdoor setting unless you’re in a penthouse suite overlooking a major city. The food was sub par. Smash burger was not smashed. Out of the 7 lunch options they were out of the one fish. The octopus was soggy and the taste was over powered by the peppers and other sauces. Truffle fries were delicious. Salad with grilled chicken was sub part average for $20+. I’m sure their rent is high but the food quality needs to step it up. Waitress was great. The photo opportunity provided was unique but she needs to explain her purpose and not just randomly ask for photos. Is this for social media? Is it for personal grain? Etc. worth the drinks and views… not the food.

We planned a wedding dinner at The House on the River with a party of 30ish on second floor balcony over looking the river. Our event coordinator and the staff were very helpful with suggestions and planning. The dinner party was fantastic. At first a little warm on second floor for late spring, but comfortable enough. Everyone raved about the venue and the food was delicious. The staff was very friendly, professional, and accomodating. After the dinner, the guests crashed the bar and had fun. Highly recommend for such an intimate event. Thank you Daniela, Neil, Chef, and staff!!! You made a memorable event for our family and friends.

We recently visited House on the River for afternoon tea as part of my 50th birthday celebration.

The venue itself is lovely, and the in-person service was warm and attentive. The setting is beautiful, and there is no denying that it's a wonderful place to spend an afternoon.

That said, I would not recommend House on the River specifically for afternoon tea. I was extremely surprised to find that the tea service included bagged tea rather than loose-leaf tea. When our server opened a tea box, I was honestly shocked. Given the price point and the expectations that come with a traditional afternoon tea experience, this felt like a significant miss.

It was also very difficult to reach the restaurant in advance to ask questions and make arrangements. While I am a South Florida native, I now live out of state, and it took five phone calls to get a live person. In fairness, they did call me back and leave a message, to which I returned the call and never heard back. I had to call four more times before someone actually answered the phone. Additionally, while I understand that accommodations aren't always possible, I was disappointed that gluten- and dairy-free substitutions for the tea service itself were unavailable, despite ample notice and a willingness to pay an extra fee (due to medical food allergies, not simply preferences). We were able to work around it, but it did limit the experience.

Another disappointment was being seated alone in a separate room rather than in the main dining area, which made the experience feel less festive and connected than we had hoped.

To be clear, this review is not intended to throw shade at the restaurant. I simply want to help set expectations for others. If you're looking for a traditional afternoon tea experience, complete with loose-leaf tea and the details that typically accompany that tradition, this may not be what you're expecting.

However, I would absolutely return for lunch from the regular menu and request outdoor seating. The location is beautiful, the atmosphere is relaxing, and I think that's where House on the River truly shines.

For $650 and my 50th birthday, I admit I left feeling disappointed by the afternoon tea experience. Had we come for lunch instead, I suspect my review would have been very different.

A gem of a spot in downtown FTL! Perfect setting for a cute date night or brunch/dinner with the girls. The dining area is set throughout all the rooms of the house and each is adorned with beautiful decor. I wanted to give a special shoutout to our server Liz. She was so attentive and had the warmest hospitality! We felt very taken care of. Food and drinks were delicious and I can’t wait to come back here again.

We held a joint birthday and anniversary party for 12 people. We reserved a semi-private room on the second floor balcony overlooking the river. The decor was charming, the setting was intimate and the view of the river and the passing yachts was delightful.

The pre-selected menu was served family style and everything was absolutely delicious. A few standouts were the lightly fried artichoke hearts, buttery-soft and flavorful; the green goddess salad had a burst of bright and fresh flavors and the char crusted prime NY strip with a peppercorn sauce was incredible.

But what made the evening feel extra special was the outstanding service. From first inquiry about making the reservation, the event manager Daniela, was helpful, responsive and accommodating. Even though our reservation was after her shift ended, she stayed to help make sure all went smoothly. The server, Randy, and the whole team were on point. Friendly and attentive but didn't rush us. I'm looking forward to returning for a simple evening out!

This place is incredible. Good quality and aesthetic food next to a river view! It’s a hidden gem that you must visit if you are in Forth Lauderdale: Try the croissants 👌🏻 the pistachio iced latte and the chicken bowl
