Food was just ok, fish and chips was the size of a child’s meal, the burgers were decent, airline chicken over risotto, the risotto had no flavor at all which was really disappointing, the chicken had good flavor but was dry. We went for the mermaid experience and I think the mermaids called in sick so that was a fail, Fri is we’re good, wait staff was very nice

We had high hopes for this place. The bar has a really cool theme. Unfortunately we were left confused. The mermaid show was a big letdown. It is NOT burlesque. In fact, it is some bizzar scavenger hunt? The food was some of the worst we have had. We stayed for 3o minuts and left. Save your money and time. This place is a wreck.

Wow…the waitresses were rude. The older waitress was the worst. She kept rolling her eyes at me as I looked through the menu bc I wasn’t fast enough for her. The place forgets that this event is mainly for kids so we had spills on the table and the waitresses were nowhere to be found and when I asked for napkins they hesitated. Like napkins was going to hurt the business. I also asked for coffee and they said they would go check to see if they even offered it…lol. No one ever came back to confirm…guess that means no. This is expensive but the food sucks and the service even more!!!!

Look. You're there for the mermaids. That's it. So go, have a drink and see a mermaid. Mermaids are great! Everyone loves a mermaid!
But wow, this place. It really could be something incredibly special. And it sounds like it was but isn't any more, which is a shame. 'Cause once you get past the mermaid novelty, Wreck bar is kinda... a wreck, honestly. Sorry. Too easy there.
Anyway. The sunken galleon theme to the space is fantastic. It's pure whimsy and fun, for sure. And props to them for it. C'mon, who doesn't enjoy the idea of sitting in a ship under the sea that just happens to serve drinks as mermaids swim by? That's everyone! But once you get past the space itself - and the mermaids - then things kind of fall apart. The food is, well, all right. It's unfortunately nothing special. The cocktails? Also mediocre at best. They're made by recipe, but the recipes aren't all that great. If there was ever a place that screamed for a killer Mai Tai, then a sunken galleon themed bar with real live mermaids would be it. Unfortunately, what Wreck serves as a Mai Tai is a drink that most people who know a Mai Tai wouldn't know as a Mai Tai. Other drinks are the same.
This place has so much amazing potential. Or again, maybe it did. Who knows?
Also, apparently there's been a change of the mermaid guard, which has caused some amount of controversy in the mermaid world. Looking for the mermaid burlesque? Unfortunately you're out of luck. Burlesque and booze are a great combo, but that's not the course Wreck is charting anymore. It's a more family friendly affair now, and that's fine.
Again, look. You're there for mermaids, and that's great. 'Cause the closest spot that does anything similar is the Sip 'n Dip Lounge in Great Falls, Montana. And you're nowhere close to there.
I really, really want to rate this higher and I'm actually being generous. A $90.00 brunch should come with excellent food and excellent service. Sadly, this just wasn't that.
Parking: The valet service was excellent and reasonably priced.
Kid-friendliness: When mermaids are your main attraction, children will be your clientele.

Visited this place 8 years ago. The food was mediocure. It was cool to see the mermaids, but we didn't really care to go back. Now, I have a daughter & thought it would be nice to take her to see mermaids, but they are charging $80 for adult tickets. I called to see if it includes food or drinks and was told it does not. Based on the reviews, the mermaid show is not worth $80. We won't be back.
Do not support the wreck bar … their behavior has been despicable
It’s in a run down hotel lobby and the mermaids look like they haven’t slept. This place is on its last leg.
The Mermaid Show is literally a WRECK!
We used to enjoy bringing visitors to the mermaid show when they came into town. NEVER AGAIN! The new changes are horrible. The bar and restaurant are understaffed. The hostess is the waitress, server, bartender, and busser.
The menu was very limited and small plates only. The taste of the food was average, but plates did NOT make culinary sense. The show was boring. Three girls swam around in mermaid tales and used Dollar Tree props. We were more entertained by watching our daughter swim in the pool.
We were embarrassed by the food as well as the mermaid show. Where is the merman?!?!? It was $90 each just to walk in the door.
We spent $700 for 4 people! I want my money back, and we left early.

The mermaid experience is absolutely not worth the price tag. We brought our two daughters here for what was supposed to be the highlight of their trip. Not only did they change our reservation time the day before our scheduled experience, but the three course meal that ran us $300 (two courses for kids) took over 2 hours to serve. Your mermaid will appear in leggings for a photo op before the show, ruining the magic for the kiddos, and the swim tank viewing experience is book ended beginning and end by the chicken legs of pale white dudes before the mermaid get into the water. The food is mediocre at best, and my kids were bored in their seats 20 mins into the show. I'm not one to write reviews over mild disappointments, but there are far better things to experience in ft lauderdale than this. They also stopped serving our "bottomless" mimosas about half way through our experience.
