Fantastic as always! My wife and I were here a few weeks ago, but finally getting around to writing a review. Fresh Catch Bistro has always been a “must go” during our yearly vacations to Fort Myers Beach. This was our first time at the new location, and while it’s obviously very unfortunate they had to relocate, I honestly think it was a huge upgrade! The decor and view of the bay are perfect. Onto the dinner… we were here to celebrate my birthday and arrived about an hour before our reservation. The hostess informed us they were able to sit us if we were ready, but we were in no rush and wanted to relax at the gorgeous bar with a cocktail or two before dinner. They told us to take our time and let them know when we were ready. The bartender, Kyle, did a great job with the signature martini’s. Once we were ready they seated us in a very cozy booth facing the windows/bay. Our server, Mary Ann , was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. My wife had the crab cakes and I had the gumbo for starters… both were excellent. Mary Ann waited for us to tell her when we were ready for her to place our entrees. With a special night out it was so nice to not feel rushed and be able to enjoy every aspect of the evening. For dinner we both had the Miso Teriyaki Sea Bass (my wife’s favorite meal on the island). I typically never order seafood for dinner (as I really don’t like fish at all), but this is the one and only exception. It was outstanding as always! For dessert they brought us a complementary piece of chocolate cake, but we also ordered the salted caramel cheesecake, because it’s that good. Once the meal was over they gave me a birthday card with a special gift inside. That was an unexpectedly nice touch to end the perfect night out! I can’t recommend this place enough… which I honestly do to anyone who visits the island. Salute

The BEST seafood we’ve had in all of Fort Myers Beach. The service was excellent (thank you so much MaryAnn) and the dock view is very pretty. The calamari, complimentary bread, cook to order shrimp and mahi mahi, topped off with key lime pie were all excellent. We found this place to be very reasonably priced for the area and how fresh all the seafood is! All portions are very large too, so plenty of leftovers. We will absolutely be coming back to Fresh Catch!!!

We dined on a Monday evening. We did not have reservations and they were on a bit of a wait so we sat at a high top by the bar. Our waitress/bartender was slammed but she did a great job handling it. I love their menu and everything they offer sounded wonderful. We had escargot and clam chowder to start, both were very good. For dinner we had the Chilean sea bass and salmon with the pan Asian sauce. The salmon was good, the miso sea bass was EXCELLENT! Reminded me of Nobu! The rice served had some kind of nuts in it which was a bit alarming because it does not include that in the description and I am allergic to cashews. They definitely need to make folks aware of that. I upgraded to Bok Choy for a side and wouldn’t again, not worth the $5 up charge. Beautiful atmosphere and diverse cocktail and wine selection. Looking forward to coming back in the near future.

Sunday, February 25, my wife and I drove out to Fort Myers Beach to both have dinner at Fresh Catch and to see the damage from the recent hurricane. We were virtually shocked! The dinner, and Fresh Catch's new location were disappointing to us. The location is no longer on the ocean (we had already known that loss prior to our visit) , the people are warm and welcoming, but the ambiance, the food and the scene (parking is over-crowded) were unsatisfactory for taking a much longer trip from Naples. The ambiance is marred by their netting of the view, the food was not the same (my salmon was too dry and my wife's blackened grouper was also dry -- both meals were far below those in the past. The location away from the ocean is sorrowfully lacking. To be short, we won"t be driving back out to the location until another restaurant is built on the ocean front.

After 3 years in the area and looking forward to finally going to Fresh Catch Bistro with a group of friends, we were very surprised that we could get a last-minute reservation for 7 people during the high season. I am usually very complimentary with my reviews and try to be very forgiving with insignificant issues. Rudeness, however, is NOT something I can overlook in a server. From the beginning, our server was extremely curt and rude, expecting quick decisions after we had just been seated. After she delivered our drinks, my vodka and tonic tasted like vodka and club soda. I told her and she did not apologize, just wisked it away in a rude manner and came back with another...again, no apology or any explanation, but when I tasted it, it was exactly the same...club soda and tonic. I had others at the table taste it to be sure I was correct. She was ignoring us, and so my husband called her over, and she rudely told me that I was wrong...that she had tasted the tonic water, and it was fine. I asked her to please take the drink away. She did take it away after making a scene. This was very embarrassing for me. I had started to explain what had happened to Jerry (manager?) when the server came back and explained then that there was indeed something wrong with the tonic, and they were trying to fix it. It was very troubling to me that she had embarrassed me in front of the group, never apologized, and it set a bad tone for our entire evening. Jerry did change servers for us, but I have to say that I have never before had an experience quite like this. I certainly expected much better from Fresh Catch Bistro. I am very disappointed and saddened! We really love Junkanoo Below Deck and had a terrific meal and great service there. The bill at Junkanoo's was not nearly the price that we paid at Fresh Catch Bistro for inferior service and 2 bad drinks, and an embarrassing situation...there were other issues as well, but we could overlook them. I just needed to bring this issue to light.

Steaks were overcooked. Baked potato & vegetables were cold as well as the sauce Bernaise (came out like butter).Young waiter lacked proper training. Managerial staff was rude. Totally disappointing experience.

Blah…. No flavor, seafood seems way fresher than Doc Ford’s but everything else is blah with no seasoning or flavor. Was disappointed as it’s more expensive than other options.. must be paying for the waterfront view, certainly not the flavor! Service was good but seemed like she was rushing us out of the place..
