Dear Friends and Guests, we are pleased to announce, that we have found a new Restaurant. Unfortunately, we were not able, to rebuild on Fort Myers Beach. Our new Restaurant is called "Heidi's German Restaurant" and is located at 12791 Kenwood Lane, Fort Myers, FL 33907. (the former Kenwood Lane Grill) Corner College Pkwy and S. Cleveland Ave. (US41) Centrally located and easily accessible by car from Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Bonita Springs, Naples and Lehigh Acres. The Restaurant has ample parking and a small outside "Beer Garden". We still have to do some changes and renovations. With your support, we are confident, that we can make "Heidi's German Restaurant" as successful, as our former "Heidi's Island Bistro" on Fort Myers Beach. We are looking forward, to serving you soon our fine German cuisine with "German Gemütlichkeit" We are so excited, seeing all of you again !! We hope, to be able to open mid April 2023. Just read this: Still in shock, we have to inform you, that our Restaurant doesn't exist anymore. Hurricane Ian washed it away, like most of Fort Myers Beach. After 10 years of hard work and establishing our Restaurant, "Heidi's Island Bistro " came to a sudden end. It took a few hours, and our existence was just gone. As of right now, we don't know if, or how, we can go on. We want to thank all of you for your loyalty and support and for being incredible lovely friends and guests. July 29, 2022 - The sign on the door said the closure was due to health reasons. No indication of when they will reopen. Dissaappointed because we are only visiting for the weekend. I found the restaurant and menu on TripAdvisor yesterday. They even had their summer hours posted 4:30 -9:00 p.m.

This place is so amazing. The food and the environment was outstanding. Our waitress Dianna was the sweetest and so attentive. The sauerbraten and the desserts (especially the cheesecake) are absolutely delicious. Highly recommend! -Verona & Siena :)

I'm almost afraid to post this review since it may make it harder for us locals to get into one of the best restaurants in Southwest Florida. As you can see, I'm not a one-hit wonder reviewer so you can take my opinion as REAL! Heidi's is by far an outstanding experience from start to finish. It is worth a drive and it is worth a wait. If you don't have time, GO ELSEWHERE! This is NOT a typical quick mediocre meal, where you rush in and rush out. When you dine here, it is as though you are visiting family and should plan for a leisurely meal not a fast food fling. You could not ask for friendlier and accommodating hosts as Heidi and her crew. They are truly welcoming and know how to pace a meal and let their guests enjoy their dining experience. You will NOT be in a situation where your appetizers, main meals and bill all shows up together and you get the bum's rush. Heidi's is much more professional than that. As for the food: it is BETTER than many meals we've had in Germany. The menu choices, the quality of ingredients, the preparation and presentation are beyond reproach. We've been here a multitude of times and there has never been an instance where anyone has a complaint about any portion of their meal. (And some of us are a fussy bunch.) The schnitzels are fresh, hot and delicious. Portion size is large and you may not be able to finish. The side dishes are also freshly made and the house-made spaetzel (noodles) are to die for. Beers on tap are the real German deal... they are poured correctly and served in appropriate glasses. If you have room left over be sure to try one of the desserts. Fresh REAL whipped cream can be added to your choice. Even if you don't have room, take one of the desserts home for later. All in all, I am reluctant to share this gourmet paradise with others since I don't want it overrun with those who don't appreciate top quality, outstanding service and affordable prices. For those who do, be sure to make Heidi's your first choice!
I would highly recommend this restaurant! It has everything you would want — delicious German food, yummy drinks and super friendly, conscientious staff. Our family thoroughly enjoyed every part of our meal at Heidi’s.

Great Service and delicious food. Nothing.. NOTHING to improve. We took steak, fries and German traditional dishes like Apfelstrudel and cheese spaetzle and everything tasted like your mom was cooking. In case you like your moms food ? Recommendation!
