Dinner tonight at Island View restaurant (in Lanl Kai Resort) on Ft. Myers beach. Our second time there and even better than the first! Great food and view of the beach, gulf six stories below.....and a sultry lounge singer crooning some familiar tunes while we ate. To begin, some specialty drinks at happy hour prices....then chilled gulf oysters on the half shell, spicy baked clams Francesco, steamed mussels in garlic and wine, clam chowder, Caesar salad. And their famous warm rolls filled with marscapone cheese and spiced olive oil for dipping. Our entrees were grouper oscar (topped with lobster and crab sauce), veal fontinella (veal with fontinella cheese, mushrooms in wine sauce served with a mountain of al dente pasta and veal milanese (breaded loin with artichoke hearts and linguine with olives) Barely room for desert (but we managed....chocolate lava cake). Another great meal at this excellent eatery! And kudos to our server, Guy for his attentive and personable service!! ?

Wait until the upstairs is remodeled. No pizza oven for the temporary dining. We left without ordering since no pizza available. The bright spot was Dave the waiter. If you decide to go please ask for him by name

Wonderful meal, great atmosphere and value. Everything was delicious.
Parking: Plenty of it and easy to maneuver wheelchair or canes and walkers.
Kid-friendliness: Outdoor dining has space to burn off some energy while waiting for you meal.

Went there because of the awards however was greatly disappointed. Ordered two veal picatta. Tasted nothing like lemon butter sauce. Instead it was a thick Heavy cream sauce. One was completely untouched as my friend refused to try it. Returned both and was able to get only one taken off the bill.

This is the worst waitress that we have had during our stay at Fort Myers Beach. When we asked about happy hour drinks she was rude and literally walked away without taking our order to visit a table that was apparently her friends. The service never got any better and our oven fired pizza came burnt. My husband commented on it and she got rude and said why did you eat it. We intended to pay for it and are refusing their free dessert. Never coming back!

Everybody I watched loved the rolls. We did.
My green beans were cooked perfectly. My scallops, meh.
Luanne loves shrimp. She got six and ate 4.
Try to do ‘light and tasty’.
It’s kind of fun.
The wine was very good.
People would pay whatever for great food.
You shouldn’t have empty tables during the high season.
You have a special place here. Make Bob’s and Grace’s memories proud.

Had dinner with a large group. Nice restaurant. Great views. The menu was extensive and was a big black book. They had many things to choose from. My fish trio plate was delicious and looked great on the plate.
