Matanzas on the Bay

Not sure how this place has good reviews. We were excited to eat here, but the hostess was disrespectful, server was less than average (didn’t even check on us after the kitchen staff brought our food- which was a struggle to figure out what each meal was), and the food was very small portions for the price. Not kidding- I think you’d have a better experience at Long John Silvers.

I would choose a negative star if possible. I have no idea how this place stays in business. My daughter came to visit for her birthday, and we were looking for a nice spot for her birthday dinner. Unfortunately our experience was horrible. $109 later we left, and found an amazing restaurant and experience nearby. I'm not sure where to start. The waitress seemed impatient and pushy. The appetizers seemed to be microwaved and not enough food for a child. All food was served on plastic plates with plastic silverware. I wonder if this establishment is still operating under COVID protocols. The entrees were also as if warmed up in the microwave and small portions The choice of sides are limited (4), yet only 2 were available. I live here, and I most certainly will waste my money here again. That is unfortunate, since the location is wonderful.

it was me my boyfriend & my daughter and we went here for something to eat late when nothing else was open and we sat for not even 5 minutes and saw a roach and was looking around and there was literally 6 roaches crawling around big little small you name it & the pizza didn’t even have pizza sauce. the workers were extremely nice and very welcoming but i couldn’t even stay to eat my food i told them i wanted my food to go and my boyfriend and daughter waited downstairs it was so bad i was scared we were going to bring roaches in my hotel because we had a stroller

When we arrived we were told no fried food or burgers which limited the menu. Service was fine. We ended up getting BLT wraps which were OK at best. Definitely better options

The atmosphere is great and it's nice that it has a dock and you can come by boat. But I'm mad that I just spent $85 on really bad food. (If you like mayonnaise though, you'll love this place, because they put it in everything and lots of it)
There are definitely other places in the area with better seafood and better prices.

Came to this restaurant on a business trip. Our waiter Dominique was great. However, the food wasn't very good. I ordered the mahi mahi with sliced tomatoes which wasn't good.
