Lovely restaurant over looking the gulf, great food, wonderful service and ambiance. It's gray for special occasions or intimate dinners. Small place so not a lot of seating for large parties.
Wonderful evening with great food. John had a perfectly done filet and I had the carbonara. Isabella was an amazing waitress! There were only a couple of things that made it less than 100%. First, the caprese salad had 3 tomatoes on it, which in itself wasn't a bad thing; however, one tomato wedge was an amazing purple heirloom, while two wedges were mushy run of the mill red tomatoes. As a side note, saw the table next to us get the exact same thing. Second, an 18% gratuity was added for the two of us. Open table should probably put that in their description of the restaurant. We actually tipped her more once we found out it was her tip and not some restaurant or resort fee.
Ribeye was amazing, key lime cannoli was pretty good. Service was fantastic! Couldn't really see any view as the shades to windows were down.
I wrote on the comments section that it was a Birthday Dinner for my wife but no recognition provided , as per previous occasions/ celebrations...
The new and experience was... adequate, but a terrible value for the money. I'm sure others will enjoy it but this was not for us.
From arriving and having our meal the experience was phenomenal. Our waiter Junior was more than accommodating and was friendly. The service was excellent and I will be back to have dinner as we live locally
We had a delicious meal and drinks. There were 6 of us and all our meals came out together which is a huge plus. Everyone of enjoyed the appetizers, meals and desserts. But the best part of our meal was having Junior for our server. What a mature young man who made us all feel special and was extremely attentive to us. He is an asset to Rae's!
Our food was quite good and our server, Junior was fantastic! He was very attentive and had a good sense of humor. My only criticisms would be that it was super hot in the restaurant itself and the bathroom is a bit of a hike. Other than those two things, it was a great experience and we would definitely return!
Inattentive server. Limited food options. Dried out bread basket. Extremely oily Seafood pasta with overcooked mussels. Didn't order dessert as we sat there for over 20 minutes waiting for the server despite the fact that there were less than 10 tables with 3 servers. Definitely will not return.
Tried a new restaurant out last night called, “Rae's on the Beach” at The Pink Shell, and it was fantastic! Amazing service, flavorful Italian food, fresh seafood and gorgeous views of the ocean...it was worth the drive from the Cape!

We came to the Pink Shell in May to celebrate several of our friend's 60th birthdays and we were not disappointed! The rooms were beautiful, the beach was amazing, and the food and the pools were wonderful!! Even with all of that, the best part of our trip was our server Junior. He was so friendly and has the best personality!! He went above and beyond to make sure that we had the best vacation ever!! We would all literally come back again just to see Junior. Thank you so much for your breathtaking resort, friendly staff and especially Junior!! 😊
Rae Italian restaurant truly delivered an unforgettable dining experience! The food was expertly prepared, presented, and absolutely delicious. Every bite was a delight, and I was blown away by the quality. Highly recommend to anyone looking for authentic Italian cuisine!
Much better food than you would expect inside a resort. Definitely a place I would look to eat every time I was in Ft Myers Beach. The wine list could be expanded.
Rae's was "ok".... nice ambience, great view of the ocean... but they use the same kitchen, ingredients, and even some menu items as the other restaurant located downstairs. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but calling yourself "Real Italian" is just silly and somewhat of a misrepresentation of reality. My chicken parm was good, but it was standard run of the mill chicken parm that you'd get anywhere... including Olive Garden lol, including at the beach restaurant Bongo's located on the first floor.. not bad, but nothing impressive. The Cannoli with Pistachio however, was absolutely fantastic. I'd go back, but more so because there are limited options on site, and in the future would probably just eat at Bongos again.
The food was excellent. We had the lobster gnocchi appetizer special as well as the red snapper special with pesto risotto and chicken parm. I liked that they had gluten free options. Our server, Junior, was very friendly and informed us about several dishes. This was a birthday meal and we had reservations at the resort. We felt that they could have been a little more proactive about the occasion since they had the information but it wasn't a total dealbreaker. Overall it was a lovely meal and it was nice to enjoy the view as well.
