Takote Mexican Restaurant is a pleasant surprise.
It's nicer inside than it appears from the street, with a clean and comfortable atmosphere.

The food was good, and the portions were definitely generous. Service was friendly and efficient. Our kids enjoyed their quesadillas, and the nachos were a highlight.

service was great. they were quick and food was fresh and hot. only issue we had was the food was only the main item. we ordered the burrito and torta and it did not come with sides. we also order the guacamole and the chips were made fresh I think that was our favorite part of the meal. really good overall but suggestion is to ask if food comes with side first.

Such pleasant workers and one of the owners is mesmerizing. Overall the food hits the spot and I have many favorites. Highly recommend as you come by the beach.

We have finally found our favorite Fort Myers restaurant! For many sweaty days, we have come to this town for travel baseball tournaments and never found a restaurant remotely worth returning to. Well, NOW WE HAVE! Takote is the best. Don't wait in the sun for some very average beach food. Come to Takote! I can't wait to go back tomorrow....

I come here often. The food is always really good. Only one time I was not a fan and that was because I ordered something without paying attention to what it was. Sometimes it can be very short-headed, but they're so friendly you barely notice. It's the neighborhood spot.

Went for a late lunch mid-week. Ordered the Mahi tacos which were such a disappointment, Fish was frozen and way over cooked. Also lacked flavor..Fifteen dollars for three tacos with rice and beans. Will not return

Food was very bland. 2 out of 4 kids couldn’t eat their meal it tasted so bad. No cheese on tacos. Chips and salsa not free. Service was subpar due to only having 1 person running the front of the building-waitressing and placing to go orders/running register. She was not friendly and not apologetic for absence/wait. We almost left due to not taking order and one family did while we were there.

They brought back the mahi mahi tacos!!!!!!!! I have lived here my whole life and have eaten at almost every restaurant in fort Myers as I am a major foodie and these tacos are my #1 favorite food item from anywhere.
**and these aren’t the mahi tacos with mango salsa, these are authentic and full of flavor

When I went back to this restaurant to eat like I regularly did about 5 or 6 months ago without knowing the mahi had been removed, my eyes began to water when they told me the news. It is that serious! lol

Get the mahi tacos w/ corn tortillas alone (or with the takote meal that comes with rice and beans) and add a side of guac (and sour cream if you get down like that like me). Squeeze the limes on top, and add ALL 4 or 3 hot sauces of your choosing onto each of them. I swear they are life changing. Thank you for bringing them back because wowowow life just got a little better again!!!!!
