WOW.......Mon, May 4th..... though the COVID-19 is still with us, Fl Gov. DeSantis, is allowing us to get back to our favorite restaurants, at a limited basis. YEAAAA!, So, for our 1st place to go ..... Bruno's of Brooklyn! We made reservations (highly recommended) @ 5:00. We got the usual warm welcome the minute we walked in. The Italian aroma was fabulous. We sooooooo missed coming here. We were first and only ones there at 5:00 but That was OK..... it gave us time to re-connect with Owners, Cal & Genevieve and support their wonderful staff. At the time, Cal was making fresh mozzarella and brought a small dish over to us. was still warm inside. Fabulous with the oil. Then, for dinner, I ordered their Famous Meatballs Parmesan w/ Penne pasta. My husband ordered the Chicken Parmesan w/ penne pasta. Both were over the top great. They still had their homemade Marinara Sauce for sale.... I took several jars home. Whether pick-up or in place's all good! A definite stop when in the Downtown Ft Myers area.

Very tasty Italian restaurant in downtown Ft Myers. Small but excellent food prepared right before your eyes. I highly recommend this place. Takeout orders being done during the lockdown too!

Great food and folks! Love the seafood pasta

Great tasting food, however owner (who stated he prepares every meal personally) has a serious issue with listening to his customers concerns. (unfortunately the food is not the only thing authentically Brooklyn) If you go/order be ready to pay a lot for a little and if you question the portion size ( 3 shrimp and 6 pieces of garlic toast is apparently an entree) the scripted response is "your food delivery driver must have eaten some of it" and then hang up on the customer. TAKE NOTE GRUB HUB you were thrown under the bus and likely not the first time by Mr Charming.

The best Italian food, and some of the best food period, in SW Florida. 5 stars!

Even in the middle of COVID-19 you can still count on Bruno's for a fantastic dinner to go! Caprese salad, garlic bread, meatballs and rigatoni bolognese!!! Yummy!! Thank you Cal & Genevieve you never disappoint.

Best red sauce ever! Now that they're doing curbside pick up I plan on living my last days here. Be safe everyone!

We were there twice now and it was fantastic both times! The service is top shelf and the food was amazing. It looks a bit pricey but the quality and quantity was very good. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone.

We had the worst experience at this restaurant. It was our anniversary on Valentine's Day so we wanted to go to a special place. The owners were very rude to us. They served a dish of gnocchi that looked like a bowl of soup. When we asked for a different dish, they refused. The owner's wife took the dish away & removed the liquid & basically tossed it back on the table. Then the owner (the chef) yelled over the counter "he would lose money if they replaced the dish with something else". We were so insulted we paid the bill & left. As we were leaving the owner's wife gave us a dirty look. They have forgotten who the customer is at this place. We will never go back. You should not go there either!

Enjoying very much so much deliciousness in the salad and spaghet and sauce, I have many delicious remembrances. Will ete this again with pleasure if given the chance. Also I have to say, thank you for brewing the tea and making your own dressing n sauce MMM.

Great meal from the Sausage & Peppers to the Veal Picatta to the Ravioli with Meatballs. Excellent service as well

Excellent- In every way. Such good angel hair pasta. Great service and cozy atmosphere. Don't skip dessert!

Just love Bruno's. Everything about it. Small. Comfortable. Lively. And the food is cooked in front of your eyes with love and nothing but the desire to make your taste buds happy. My son and I visited Bruno's during a special mother-son weekend and it was the highlight our trip. Everything is so fresh and all eyes in the restaurant were watching to see what was plated next. Just fantastic. Might be one of my most favorite places anywhere - and that is saying something!

Atmosphere is 10/10. It really transported us to Brooklyn NY a little cramped but added to the feeling of really being in Brooklyn. Food was delicious and staff super friendly. Definitely make a reservation!

I felt like I was in Brooklyn. Small place. Great food. Husband and wife run the place. The food, the smell, the Ayooooo. Fantastic. Good eats. I would come back again. There is a lot of love here.

Super accommodating staff. Table bread was great. Lasagna was phenomenal. Also got the trio platter and everything was amazing 10/10 would recommend. Bring your appetite

We wanted to try Brunos for awhile and finally got a chance to. We ordered chicken picata which was great, the lasania was good but had a funny taste and was really salty but my wife and friend still enjoyed it. The staff was awesome as well as the cooks who are in full view of the tables, this is really a small place and surprisingly pretty laid back. I gave 4 out of 5 only because they serve beer and Wine only and we were all spirit drinkers. Still a great place though

That’s Amore! Delicious pear sachets and fettuccine Alfredo dishes! The lasagna and chicken parm were huge! Absolutely fresh prepared served piping hot! Wonderful owners on premise and totally involved! Great experience that will result in many follow ups! The desserts look amazing‼️ No brainer here!

Fantastic Italian food. Don't hesitate to sit at the bar. Enjoying the chefs prepare the food right in front of you is an added bonus to the experience. They are a fun loving bunch. The restaurant is small so there is often a wait. Make reservations for dinner. If going for lunch, call ahead to make sure they are open as they sometimes close for private parties.

What's going on here? Big Brooklyn flavors and real hospitality in little downtown Ft. Myers. I had the bolognese sauce with meatballs chopped up, not meat sauce but meatballs, over al dente spaghetti. It was good, a little different with the inclusion of celery and carrot cubes, but seriously piping hot and delicious! The bread with a parsley/vinegar/oil dip was pleasantly full of om nom nom goodness and great to enjoy with a glass of wine on the side. Absolutely love the energy in this place, it's small but electric. The bolognese was good, but the vibes were even better with serving up some atmosphere. Will definitely come back next time I'm in the area.

Busy small restaurant, authentic food, great staff. We could tell it was good when we walked in and the staff was so quick to get us seated and our order in. We sat at the bar and got to see the chefs cooking. The bone marrow, pear mushroom cheese fianci? was delicious. Bruno's was priced right. Entrees $12-30ish. If you would like a long quiet dinner with a large group maybe choose another restaurant.

Went to Bruno's for lunch, being a resent transplant from NY I was hoping for the best since the owner is from Brooklyn.

We found this place on yelp. It's in the historic downtown area of Ft. Myers. When you enter there are tables near the front windows and along the left side of the room. The right side is a cooking area and pizza making station. There is also a few tables outside on the left of the building. We were there for lunch. I had their sweet sausage, peppers and onions hero, with mozzarella. My friend had their four cheese ravioli. The portions were huge. The food was delicious. The service was attentive. We were so full we decided to each get a dessert to take home for that evening....a slice of chocolate cake and a family (which they filled in front of us. There is 2 hr. Parking in front. The lunch menu items are mostly $10, with a few items a little higher. The dinner menu is more extensive and more expensive.

Best Italian restaurant in town. This is certainly a place to experience. If you are looking for a place for date night try to get a 2 person spot across from the grill. The chef will chat with and your date. The shrimp and lobster ravioli in a white sauce was so good. Their meatballs were also awesome! Greatest wine selection and the wine glasses are perfect. My wife and I saw the owners the next day at Starbucks and they even stopped to chat again. Amazing people! Will go back anytime I’m in town!

Felt like I was eating Italian food in Bay Ridge, BK. Small, warm restaurant with a lot of culture and flavor. Would recommend this place for anyone who is seeking authentic Italian-American cuisine. Best to sit at the counter to watch Cal do his thing.

When it comes to eating Italian out, this is my wife and I's favorite place to dine. The place is nice and small so never a large crowd to deal with. Make reservations at least a week in advance. The quality of the food is comparable to none in the area. The family are very big supporters of the community so that makes everything that is already great about this place even better.

Easily thee best Italian in Southwest Florida. I’ve lived here my entire life and grew up in an Italian family from New York, there’s nothing that compares to Bruno’s. I ordered the Fiocchi alla Bianca with chicken and was absolutely blown away. I told Genevieve that it was one of the greatest dishes I ever had, and it was!

Hilda Martinsson

I was very disapointed. I had high expectations since I had read good stuff about the restaurant. The food wasnt good at all. Way to big portions and my pasta was tasteless and heavy, not Italian at all! They served cola and water in plastic bottles which felt cheap. Their caprese salad wasnt good either. We waited for a long time for our coffee and for our check.

I would like to tell you the food was amazing. I cannot. This place is not accommodating to the handicapped. They block the wheelchair access with tables. They actual blamed me for not stating I had a handicap person when I made my reservation. It turned out to be lucky as Ariani's in Cape Coral was more then accommodating, with amazing food. The rest I'll leave to the lawyers.

Easily thee best Italian in Southwest Florida. I've lived here my entire life and grew up in an Italian family from New York, there's nothing that compares to Bruno's. I ordered the Fiocchi alla Bianca with chicken and was absolutely blown away. I told Genevieve that it was one of the greatest dishes I ever had, and it was! The peas were sweet and added color and crunch to each bite. The chicken was very lightly breaded and cooked perfectly. The mushrooms (which I'm usually not a fan of) added a great texture and we're delicious. The fiocchi and sauce were out of this world! It was sweet, light, savory, and creamy. My wife was incredibly jealous of my meal, even though she was a huge fan of her lasagna and meatballs. The portion was more than plenty for myself and there was plenty of sauce afterwards to dip the bread into. Bruno's will be our go-to recommendation and restaurant for ourselves, friends, and family. I can't suggest this place enough!! FYI: If you find yourself without a reservation like my wife and I, put your name down and walk around beautiful downtown Ft. Myers! We visited on a busy night and waited an hour which 100% worth it! Thank you Bruno's!

Bread was dry... the meat was prepared long before and was soaked with tomato sauce in a way that you can't feel it's taste. I wouldn't recommend!!!

Great service. Delicious food. We were a group of 17 celebrating a special occasion and Bruno's of Brooklyn helped make this event extra special. Highly recommend.

Wow. Great spot and the food is the best you will find. Small local restaurant that will blow you away. Food and service is amazing. Open kitchen that lets you see the incredible things that they can do.

We had a fabulous dining experience with friends. Dinner was exquisite!

I have been coming here since they opened. Celebrated my birthday with them a few times. They treat you like family. The food is amazing. Every bite is as good as the first. This is my favorite restaurant. Love it and the beautiful family that runs it ❤️
