Was skeptical, but excellent food. Glad it was not a seafood only with just a salad option place. The burger was cooked perfectly. Loved the hush puppies with peppers and fried green tomatoes. My friend had the crab cakes and loved them. Good service and entertainment also.

Been living in the area for over 20 years and finally tried this place. Nothing fancy about the decor, food was good and price reasonable. Band took over an hour to set up and do sound checks so we never got to hear them. Probably will go back at some point.

Fantastic food. Owner was so nice. Glenda entertained us with her beautiful voice. It is cash only, so be prepared.

It's great, but it's their way and that's that. Experiences vary from talking about it for two days or complaining about it for two days. Either way, it's not Burger King and it ain't your way. I have mixed feelings, but when it's good, it's good enough to go back after a not so good experience. Uniquely old Florida experience that can't be found many places anymore. Try it. You'll have an experience no matter what.

In the area for just a few days & looking for some local authenticity in food & music, so Crackerbox looked like fun! They let you know early & often that it is cash only, so don't be surprised. The history of this landmark comes through, in its contrast to all the modern development around it... if walls could talk indeed! But you won't need the walls if you can catch the owner in a quiet moment, between cooking your dinner & chatting up others! Live music is the rule at Crackerbox, and always has been, we came early & met the band as they set up. As our food began to arrive, we were already singing along to a wide variety of classic tunes! The food was simple and delightful! Salad & coleslaw like my Nana used to make . Then the seafood,.. grilled shrimp, white fish & crabcakes like I haven't had outside Baltimore! Beer & wine was available & we washed down the lot & kept singing! Don't miss this wonderful piece of old Florida, if you're anywhere in the area! You'll be happy you did!

From the road, the Crackerbox does not look like much. We decided to check it out anyway after reading a review about the musical history of the place. It was a Saturday night and an amazing bluegrass band was playing on the little stage. Tables were set up outside, and a festive feel was in the air. The menu was limited...maybe 3 entrees. On the suggestion of our server, we ordered the pulled pork platter. Service was far from fast, but as we were enjoying the music, it did not matter. When the food arrived, it was hot, delicious and well worth the wait. The portions were so big that we brought home almost half of our food. When we were leaving we saw Jody the owner, and stopped to tell her how much we enjoyed our night. On hearing it was our first time, she told us even more about the history of the place. It was fascinating! This is not a place to go if you are in a rush and are looking to eat and run. Its just not that kind of place. Figure you are going to be there a while. Relax. Enjoy the music, drinks and food and have a great night!

Been going to the Cracker Box for 25+ years. Never had a bad meal or any problem. Jodi and Brook have always been attentive and accommodating. We stopped by last night and the place was packed. We couldn’t get a table and it wasn’t a private party. So good to see business has picked up for them. Giving it another try tonight. Their having an outside gathering tonight and it should be ?
