🤓I am not much of a detective, (except when the crime is grammar, ha ha), yet I thoroughly enjoyed and appreciate the the hard work and professionalism of everyone at Ft MMMDT: five star dinner and five star experience. I note Amanda, a SemGulf All Star, and am most appreciative of her. She took several frantic phone calls from me because I couldn't even solve the mysteries of Waze and Maps circling Colonial Blvd, Winkler, Metro, Hanson, and Airport for one hour before arriving at the depot at 6:20pm. Despite our tardiness, Amanda shepherded us to our train car where John (aka Major Drake Payne) and Taylor (our principal server) calmly and efficiently repeated what they had already instructed passengers. The troop brought nourishment and entertainment as the train rocked.I apologize to the car's prompt passengers also--or perhaps, they realized that I was no competitive sleuth--heck, I couldn't find a massive train much less nab a felon. 🤓

What a fantastic night. The food was great and the service was on point. The actors kept you entertained and engaged in the story. I’d give them 10 stars if I could. Will definitely be going again when a different story comes out.

The food was terrible for the price.Couldnt eat the Prime rib.I ordered medium rare it was grey and tough.Salad was so small we all laughed when it came to the table. We were so uncomfortable cramped in our seats our legs were so stiff we had a hard time standing up after the slow ride.Way overpriced for what you get .It was my friends 64th birthday and I was so embarrassed.Do not recommend spending your money on this!

Had a large tour bus select this as the theme for a short overnight trip. Boarded train at 545 pm and were promptly seated in our assigned car. Well organized. Train started moving at 630 pm & returned at 1000 pm. Five course meal served which included crackers/cheese/fruit plates; soup; salad; prime rib; & dessert. During the train travel a Murder mystery live act was played out in the dining cars where we sat and patrons were challenged to write downs clues & make their submissions at the conclusion of the act as to who done it for a prize. Approximately 40 people in each rail car. Casual dress acceptable. Rail car was in excellent condition & comfortable. Food & service was excellent. Good bar libations available as well. Only down side to tour was that normal lengthy trip has been geographically shortened due to some bridge damage still lingering from last fall’s hurricane Ian. The length of track traversed is somewhat limited. It seemed like train was parked for a lot of the time we were on our 3-hour trip & went extremely slow. Felt like trip was being stretched out by the slow speed & parking periodically. I’d recommend for a unique evening experience at your discretion.

I’ve been in SW Fl for decades & I’ve always wanted to try the Murder Mystery Train ride. My friend and I (as well as our spouses) got to do that last night. We sat together in a lovely train car named the Gasparilla (sp). All the cars have different names including Sanibel , Marco, Captiva etc. The trains normal route was not usable due to Hurricane Ian in 2022 so we basically just went in one direction for a while , then reversed direction. The view was not noteworthy but the mystery saga was pretty neat. (Can’t get mad bc a hurricane knocked out a bridge.) The play was performed In increments, so as not to disturb your dinner. Once a course was completed the actors would come in and perform. Once done they would move to the next car and you were served the next course. Pretty Clever if u ask me. Upon arrival , cheese, crackers & grapes are placed at your table. Followed by soup , Cesar salad and an entree of your choice. We all had the prime rib. It was very tender and cooked exactly how I asked for it to be done. My only issue was it had a very peppery taste and I don’t like pepper. After dinner was some type of cinnamony , surgery cake. It was delicious. The play was cute, funny , and a mystery you had to solve. I won’t say more so it’s a surprise. I was disappointed that we were never offered coffee or tea after the meal as the 250 + dollars I spent on my two tickets said it was included. Regardless, I will go again after they change the play. You will get out of it what you put into it. If you play along it’s a lot of fun. If you don’t I could see where you might be bored. So go on and try it and have some FUN! Great , Funny Actors/Actresses . Enjoy! Ps I solved the mystery ! Haha

Let me start off that I am a local and I love to support local businesses. This is why I went in the first place. In the 23 years I have lived in SWFL, I had never been on the murder mystery train but I had seen commercials and thought it looked cool. BOY WAS I WRONG. This company is a SCAM. You will pay full price to wait 6 hours just to get off the dang thing, experience views that no one asked for (poor communities, trash), and be treated like a prisoner all while doing so. If anyone ever asks me about trains, wait times, rude staff, or the murder mystery train ever again I will gladly tell them how awful of an experience this was and to NEVER support a company that doesn’t care about its customers or even their employees. Please do yourself and everyone in SWFL a favor by supporting another business such as the Broadway Palm or Alliance of the Arts.

The wait staff was rude! They threw things down on the table. When we asked if we could have a 2nd roll we were told no. That they only have 1 per person. The food was horrible. The train kept stopping and starting. The AC kept going on and off. Apparently the night before the train had hit a person. You would think the staff would be a little kinder to the people paying to keep them in business. However they do NOT care about how they treat you. Honestly they have to captive and then are mean to you the entire time. I would definitely NOT recommend this experience to anyone unless you like being treated rudely.

My family really enjoyed the murder mystery train ride. All of the food was amazing, actors were hilarious, and my son captured some beautiful photos along the route.

We had a blast! The food was pretty tasty, but you are there for the experience. And it didn’t disappoint.

Wonderful and interesting dinner experience on the Seminole Gulf Railway while trying to solve a murder mystery. Dinner was excellent; we had salmon and prime rib. Plenty of food. You won't leave hungry. Acting was okay, and at times, humorous. You must listen and watch actors closely to catch all the clues. Our outing was with a large group of Elks from Fort Myers in which we had most of one club car reserved. We sat at a table for 4 with another couple we did not know. We had fun getting to know them while observing the countryside, sometimes poorer areas, and trying to solve mystery. Before you knew it, the 4 hour dinner encounter was over. Well planned and executed. I would do again.
