Food was great - not the best ambiance - but the food is well worth it. The Mac and Cheese is out of this world!!

I'm not even gon' hold you. This food is trash. First time trying it. Got two oxtails meals for 65$ it's mad expensive and it wasn't good at all. Rice was mushy& cold, oxtail was dried out & cold. Gave a teaspoon amount of cabbage, corn bread was IGHT. I should have known better. The place looked like it should've had tumbleweeds rolling by. If you want real good Jamaican food go to IRIES CAFÉ 3 Mins down the road. Food is always fresh and hot, and two oxtail meals won't cost you 65$.

Jerk chicken is over the top. I drive from Sarasota to Fort Myers, just to get some:)

Ms. Diane is the TRUTH!! Ate at Island Spicez for the first time yesterday and had the curry chicken and oxtail....like WOW, literally no words and so flavorful. The cabbage was soooo good as well. Definitely a hidden gem on Fowler.

Was craving a good home cooked meal and found this place right down the street. Was skeptical about the lack of customers outside but as i sat down and tried my oxtail and curry goat i realized she needs a LOT MORE customers. FOOD IS AMAZING and oh my god the cornbread is so good. Will definitely be ordering extra cornbread next time. Great spices and flavor and the plate is huge. Didn’t even get to finish it all before getting full. Will be returning REGULARLY

I had a colleague in town from the Islands and wanted to find a restaurant with great flavor before he left town...and Island Spicez did not disappoint! Was so good, I took the family there for dinner the same day! Also, grab a bottle of hot sauce while you're there.

THIS IS THE BEST FOOD IN THE WORLD. I once maybe woulda thought NYC, NOLA, and LA had the best food, but then I came here for lunch. Chef is a genius. Oxtail, curried goat, curried shrimp all mind blowing. Even the lemon yellow cake on the counter was the single best piece of cake I've ever had. The flavors here are big, savory, fresh, complex, and left us all wondering when we could come back and eat the rest of the menu. No fancy place with a table cloth or whatever has ever made me this happy. Island Spicez and its chef are a gem. So overjoyed we found this place and cant wait to come back.

Overpriced oxtail, $27 for large and $20 for small. This is at least $10 more than most Jamaican restaurants. The lady said the price of oxtail went up but this was 2 years ago and prices have since dropped so she is lying. You can get oxtail for $9 a pound at Fowler meat and fish market a couple mins down the road from there. I know this because i buy oxtail all the time to make. If i didnt drive 30 mins in traffic to get there i would have walked out when she told me the price. On top of that the food was not that great. I love supporting black owned businesses especially Jamaican ones since i am a Jamaican but not when they're ripping people off.

Was worried because ive been getting disappointed with other restaurants lately but this one absolutely impressed me. Huge portions and great taste. Had a large curry chicken enjoyed it. Only curious thing was string beans in the cabbage but besides that im a happy customer. If the food is like this consistently then this will be the only Jamaican restaurant I will go to.
