Best kava bar around hands down. Owners and kava tenders are all amazing. Drinks are creative and very good. Put this place on your must stop by list
My sister and I came in tonight to try this kava bar. We had been to some kava bars in California so we were excited to try this out. We immediately were greeted with a nasty attitude from the kavatender and felt like any questions we asked were responded to with condescension. When she served us our drinks, mine was half full, which I assumed was normal, but decided against asking why this was because of the cold attitude we were given. Also, the kava did not give the same effects as what we are used to back in California, so other than the taste, it was not worth the money. We were nothing but kind and eager to give the kava a try, unfortunately, this encounter left a bad taste in our mouths and we will not be back.
Young server was ok but older server with white short hair was completely rude and insulting to us. Made us feel uncomfortable and leave even after we purchased 2 drinks
As a newcomer to the area, I have been exploring various places to work and study, and I was drawn to this Kava Bar due to its proximity to my home. Having visited other Kava Bars in Fort Myers, I typically appreciate the welcoming atmosphere and community engagement.
Upon entering, I was impressed by the beautiful decor and was eager to experience what this establishment had to offer. However, my experience took an unexpected turn when the staff member who approached me expressed concerns about my age. I understand the need for age verification, the manner in which this was handled made me feel uncomfortable. The staff lady asked several invasive personal questions regarding my residence and purpose for being in the area, which felt intrusive given the context.
When I requested a non-stimulate beverage in the meantime so I can focus on my work, such as mango or guava juice, I sensed impatience from the staff. Ultimately, I opted for guava juice as a way to contribute to the establishment while I focused on my work. However, I was informed that I needed to order a drink at least every hour if I intended to use the space for studying because it wasn’t a “hangout spot.” I noticed the older patron over my hour did not receive any of this treatment and were free to sip and chat.
This experience left me feeling disheartened and unwelcome. I believe it may be beneficial for the staff to consider a more accommodating approach when interacting with younger/new patrons. While I appreciate the establishment's policies, I may choose to explore other locations that align more closely with my expectations for a supportive environment.
*Looking at other comments I notice that the lady I encountered is very unkind to young persons in general, I am not unique. Also I am 22*

I've come here for a while now, and I'm constantly impressed with the consistency and price of the drinks I've gotten. The tea is always made well, and the kava is genuine and never instant. It is a great place to hang and relax. I definitely recommend a visit to Kapua!

Very nice people, competitively priced drinks compared to the competition. Southwest Florida's first kava bar, and one of the best in the area. The kava variety is great, and all the drinks are strong yet taste amazing.
AT KAUA KAVA BAR: There were two of us, my boyfriend (27) and myself (25). We were checking out, we were taking the drinks to go and the drinks had already been prepared for us (in to go cups)when we were told the price by the kavatender and it was not including the happy hour discount. We told the kavatender the price is incorrect and that the price is double what it should be. The kavatender told us that the price was correct because happy hour is “dine in only”. I asked if we can just have it in to go cups either way (because I don’t like drinking out of shells) and I was told I could not for the happy hour discount but I could for regular price, which would be double the price. We chose to not take the drinks and walk out because it makes no sense for the price to be double if you are taking it to go and the kavatender was rude to us. Earlier, my boyfriend was told he could get one kratom drink only and I could only get kava because I left my wallet at home. We said ok to this. I was asked if I was over 18 by the kavatender and I said yes I am 25...The fact that I left my wallet at home was not related to the price change or the bad customer service we experienced. Despite not having my ID we were still prepared one kratom and two kava drinks in to go cups…We were just told it would be double the price and the kava tender was very rude to us so we walked out…If there is really a rule that happy hour is “dine in only” and no to-go cups allowed (for happy hour) you should list that on your website under happy hour….This was May 16th around 7:33pm
I came in because of the happy hour advertisement. No where on the website does it say “dine in only” for happy hour. I tried to get it in to go cups and was told it is dine in only. I don't like drinking out of shells so whether I was dining in or not I just wanted to go cups. I was told I can’t have to go cups either way. If this is really a rule it should say “must dine in and no to-go cups allowed” on the website. This is stupid. I would have stayed and used the regular cups if the kavatender wasn’t extremely rude about it. Due to her attitude I chose to leave and take my buisness to another kava bar. She even laughed and made a sassy comment when I was walking out the door. I used to be a kavatender myself and had tons of customers who just preferred to go cups. I would have just explained nicely if there was a rule against it instead of laughing and making rude comments.

Just came here today on May 16th at 7:33p, the lady at the counter was so rude that I asked to have it to go, then she raised the price and said it’s more expensive to have it to go. I walked out and I won’t be back. What a mean lady

I’ve been going here every day for the past five years. Hands down the best kava bar in SWFL (or probably anywhere tbh). I call it my “church”. The community is awesome, I think of everyone as friends, and we all spend an hour or so each day to hang out and catch up.The drinks are the strongest you can get at a good price. When you go to other big name kava bars (like kava culture) you’ll notice a huge difference with the effect you get + the bill.Kapua always wins.
