Thank you, Cara L, for your friendliness and great service. Our lunch group loved the catch of the day - flounder - and the clam chowder was yummy.

Authentic New England gem in Fort Myers!
Outstanding service from the owner’s daughter—warm, genuine hospitality. My Massachusetts‑born father‑in‑law raved about the Ipswich whole belly clams, and my flounder catch of the day was cooked to perfection. Early bird deals are delicious and fairly priced, and the beer is downright inexpensive. The New England sports and scenic memorabilia make the atmosphere a treat. My advice: go, and go often. We’ll definitely be back!

Food was very meh. Completely mediocre.
The Clam Bake is a must-visit for New England seafood lovers! The fresh lobster and swordfish are outstanding, and the cozy, sports-themed decor adds to the charm. It’s a true family-run spot—where the owner even stepped in as a server so staff with kids could enjoy Halloween off. Great food, great heart, great atmosphere! A family favorite.

Good start with steamed clams. The establishment was great. Great food at fair prices, with a casual dress code. The broiled haddock and Red Grouper topped with real crab meat was very good. Service was fast and friendly.
My wife and I had not been to The Clam Bake and that was our mistake. We will definitely be back.
We were part of a group of eight. We made a reservation and we were seated promptly when we arrived. Cara L was our server and she was fantastic. Attentive, friendly, and helpful. We had questions about the menu and the drinks and she answered each question with candor and without hesitation. She was knowledgeable about everything on the menu and could speak just as easily to the one couple in our group from New England as she could the rest of the group who were from the Midwest.
Everyone in our group enjoyed their meals. My wife and I had the shrimp from the Early Bird menu. My shrimp was fried and my wife's shrimp was broiled. While each of us loved our meals, we will be switching our orders next time because each of us raved about our own meals. :)
The atmosphere in The Clam Bake was relaxed and professional. Nicely decorated and a pleasant atmosphere.
Easy to talk to the people next to you or across the table from you. Do not let the location in a strip mall color your judgement. The Clam Bake is an excellent restaurant.

As a local supporter of this restaurant for the past 20 years, I unfortunately will post a disappointing review. For the third time we have noticed a very unpleasant fish smell throughout the restaurant. The food was definitely subpar from the past. A bit overcooked, dry and chowder tasted like it had cooked all day. The staff as always were super, attentive and helpful. I am hopeful that this is just a problem for the short interval, but the last 3 visits over the last 6 months the food has not been good.

My husband & I had heard nothing but wonderful things about this restaurant. I had the fried clams & he had oysters. They were the smallest whole belly clams I've had. Im from New England and expected better from what I was told. Came with clam chowder which wasn't bad. My husband had fried oysters and said they were good. I probably will not be going back.
Lobster rolls; no seasoning. Ask for onions rings and coleslaw. But for fries instead.
