The food, drinks, service and atmosphere was awesome. Our waitress was excellent. There was 6 of us and she said it was her first night of being solo. We would have never known that because she was so good. Wish I could remember her name. Great place!

Great service, large portions, decent food... and kids eat free! I recommend stopping by on your next trip to Ft. Myers Beach.

I'd had dinner at Pinchers with friends last winter and had only good things to say about the food and overall experience. So, earlier this month my husband and I decided to go for dinner. While the service was excellent, I can only say that we were both disappointed in our food with the exception of the crab and cheese dip which was excellent. My husband had fish and chips which is one of his favorite meals. He said the french fries tasted like frozen ones he buys at the supermarket and that the fish was just mediocre. He only ate about half the fish and a few of the fries. I had fried soft shell crab which is a favorite of mine. However, the crab was so overcooked all I could taste was the crunchy breading. If I hadn't had soft shell crab in the past, this one dish would have turned me off ever trying it again. I did eat it but only because I was hungry. We don't go out to dinner very often which made this outing even more disappointing than it might have been if we went out to dinner frequently.

When in the Ft. Myers area, we always have to stop for dinner at this Pinchers, located right on the river and provides THE best views of the sunset around. The interior is decorated with all sorts of nautical items and there's a very prominent fish case near the hostess station that is filled with fresh fish and other seafood items used on the menu. We prefer to sit outside on the covered terrace overlooking the marina down below and the expansive views of the river. It's so relaxing and as was the case during this visit, we were entertained by dolphins frolicking in the river. And having your server take your picture with the sunset in the background is a great Kodak moment. It's Happy Hour everyday, all day at Pinchers when it comes to alcoholic drinks. There is a catch, of course. When you order a beer or cocktail, they bring you two of them at the same time. When it's in the 90's, the beer and cocktails get warm fast. You either drink them quickly, or you get extra glasses of ice to add as you're drinking. My daughter and I like beer, so we order one beer first, two come to the table, we each have one, then order more as needed. They allow it and we do it. Pint draft beer prices are in the typical $7-$8 range. We have tried the tropical cocktails on previous visits and you can never go wrong. We started off with A Boat Load of Mussels appetizer. We really enjoyed these. Plenty of tender mussels in a wine, butter and garlic broth, topped with shredded parmesan cheese and a couple large pieces of garlic bread. For those not savvy about mussels, break off the shell that's empty, use your fork or fingers to break the mussel loose in its shell, leave the loose mussel in the shell and scoop up as much broth as you can with the shell and then slurp it down. You want to chew these, not swallow them so you can taste and savor the mussel. Dipping the garlic bread into the broth is a must do, just as using the empty shells to drink up the last of the broth when all the mussels have been eaten. Oh, so good! We always wait to order our entrees until after we've eaten the appetizer since we can get pretty full with the plentiful apps. My wife ordered a bowl of the Chicken and Andouille Gumbo ($9.50). The gumbo had a rich roux base with plenty of chicken and sausage along with the usual veggies and spices. A nice cajun flavor with just a touch of heat. My daughter and I each had Tony's Big Fish Sandwich ($14.00) with Garlic Mashed Potato and Cole Slaw sides. We've had this before and it is our go-to when we're here. They deep fry up a massive filet of some mild tasting white fish that they coated with a very light, tempura like coating, placed it on a soft hoagie roll and topped it with shredded lettuce and tomato. The roll would need to be 50% larger to accommodate the entire filet from end to end. I'm a hearty eater so I ate my whole sandwich. My daughter took half home for another dinner. If you like seafood, this is the sandwich to get. We left after sunset having had another enjoyable visit to Pinchers.

First problem - It was very warm inside. A/C barely on. Biggest problem - The Fried fish was so overcooked I could barely cut it. Another person at our table got the same thing with the same problem. He got a new order of fish (I wasn't taking a chance on it again!) and that was much better. I got ribs instead - they were very good but the server didn't bring me new sides with it - just the ribs!?! WTH!?! So, I ate some cold fries from my girlfriend's plate. The coleslaw was dry. Fries were much like Five guys - too greasy for me but other people like them. Not happy with the service either. When I decided I wasn't going to eat that horrible fish, I looked for the server for probably 15 minutes and never saw her. Fortunately, a manager walked by our table and I told her about the issue. They did, at least, comp me for my meal so that was good. I don't think I'm ever going back. Especially not this location!

We were in town visiting our boys, and my son the bartender knows where the good food is. Pincher's is one of those southern maritime locations that operates both as a restaurant and a seafood market. The combination lends some confidence that their products are top quality. The dining room offers great waterfront views, especially if you opt for deck seating. We prefer air conditioning so we took one of their long tables. Casual is the tone--the table is covered with a length of paper off a large roll, and the servers greet you while writing their name and drawing a little fish on that paper--which requires learning how to write the name upside-down. My wife and I have limited appetites, so we often limit our dinners to a few appetizers. I learned here that conch fritters are my favorites way to eat conch--I'd tried breaded and deep-fried earlier on this vacation and that's my second favorite. We also shared some crab rangoon, it could have been perhaps a littl emore crab and less cream cheese, but nicely crisp. Their sangria was a welcome cool drink on a warmish day. Highly recommended!
