Being in business for 40 years doesn't happen by accident. Impeccable dishes with great service at a quaint little romantic hideaway. Off the beaten path and hard to find, but beyond worth it. Try the spicy shrimp appetizer, it does not disappoint!

I had dinner there recently with some friends and am happy to say the entire experience was wonderful! The host greeted us quickly and brought us to a table that had an exceptional view. The restaurant was clean and tidy, even with it being a Friday night, around 7:30p. The Server greeted us quickly and provided excellent information regarding the menu and specials. The food was served quickly and was absolutely phenomenal! We were engaged in conversation the whole time and the server did a great job in providing exceptional service, yet without being intrusive and annoying, as some servers can tend to do (know your audience, right!?). Again, it was an excellent experience and I will definitely be coming back to Bay Cafe!

Delightful little Cafe on the water is charming and the perfect place for an awesome meal. I recommend the Escargot, Shrimp over marinara angel hair pasta, or omelets, top off your meal with a strawberry and banana romanoff dessert and you're in heaven. Service was excellent! Nice wine list, reasonably priced.

My hubby just took me there because I wanted crème brûlée. The waiter seemed put out that All we wanted was dessert. Never came back to the table to see if we wanted anything else. We even had to take our check up to the cashier because the waiter never came back. We would have ordered drinks and another dessert had they bothered to ask AND we would have tipped far more than customary had they treated us with a little respect. We are locals and get asked all the time where the best places to eat are… this will not be one we recommend

Pretty good stuff. It's not my style of atmosphere... But tasty. It has a nice culture to it and also outside eating available.

Closed. Nothing on web site or phone message to indicate this. They are completely closed up for a long-term hiatus, wish we could have known before driving all the way out.

Excellent seafood with a hint of French flair. Very good service even out on the deck. A bit dark as sunset but still a very pleasant experience.

A FRENCH CHEF IN THE PANHANDLEAND OPERATING BAY CAFE FOR DECADES?Somebody, quickly, slap my grits and mash my potatoes, I'm on "Taco" The World! As you may know, by reading a few of my restaurant reviews, I've often said that Florida's Panhandle should be known as the 'Hamburger, Pizza and Taco Capital' of the State. There are more National restaurant chains here than ever, and to find a locally, chef owned, fine dining establishment is a rare treat. After reading some of the negative reviews of Bay Cafe, it is evident the restaurant has had server issues, but, in fact, every restaurant on Earth has server issues at one time or another, and no place is perfect. So, what to do?My advice ... make reservations at Bay Cafe for an excellent lunch or dinner, and don't be surprised that the service is professional, as is the chef's kitchen. It has to be trusted that you'll receive fresh, quality product, fine wines, with a 30-year plus reputation. You will love this little French Bistro and their excellent appetizers (one to mention, Escargot en Croute), delicious entrees including a selection of fresh fish (Salmon, Snapper, Grouper), and thoughtfully made desserts (Blueberry Tart). You will, without doubt, return to Bay Cafe. Watta gem!

Hidden away, it's not what you expect when you pull up. Looks a little run down on the outside but nicer on the inside. Great view outside. Food very pricey if you've never been and don't know what to expect. Food good but for the price don't think I'll be back.
