I order to go and I was throughly impressed Normally restaurants try and skim you on to go orders, but not here. Portions are big I eat alot and had food leftover. Grits are best I've tasted, shrimp jumbo and seasoned right. The fish big and fried great but no seasoning. I give this place 8/10

One of our favorite local restaurants. We always bring visitors here. Everything is fresh. Love the smoked tuna dip. The gumbalaya (spicy) and fish tacos. And of course the hush puppies and strawberry butter. Really never had a bad meal or dish there!

The fried green tomato app. was next level good. And the crab meals are delicious and well seasoned. Right on the water, friendly staff. The only restaurant we went to twice on vacation.

After going to this restaurant 5 times by boat this off season ( we are locals who live a mile west on the water) with our 15lb friendly dog and eating on the deck ,this time the manager stated we couldn't eat there with our dog this time. Emo the owner needs to train his managers better, because you cant tell a costumer one thing 5 times and then on the sixth change your policy. We own a very busy business in Destin andwill never recommend and will never ever go back to the Shack!!!!!!!

Great place to eat outdoors. Also had a covered area with closable windows for the colder season. Great atmosphere. Good food. Good menu selection. Had a great server. The view of the bay was excellent along with the sunset. Went in mid-April and only had to wait 10min to get in.
