The staff are this burger diner are the best. Very friendly, polite, patient and helpful. Nice clean atmosphere and the burgers are awesome. Huge monster of a burger. I ordered the smokehouse bacon burger with fries. The fries are excellent, crispy, seasoned well. The staff and dining area itself is above expectation.
The burgers are certainly tasty but very sloppy. You cannot eat the burger without getting sauces on your hands. I had the smokehouse burger and my buddy got the sax burger. It's probably a combination of too many condiments and being wrapped tight in paper both burgers had condiments on the outside of the bun making it difficult to eat. Just be prepared to eat the burgers with knife and fork.
Update: I requested my smokehouse burger without mayo this time and it was more enjoyable it eat. Flavor was on point too.

Stopped in on our way home from vacation. Kind of a hole in the wall place but the food was awesome. Lady at the counter was so nice and friendly! Mushroom Swiss burger and the fries are so good. The sweet tea is perfect.

I went to Sax after asking a friend online what cuisine I should go look for. He said Cuban, so I searched for Cuban. Sax isn't a Cuban spot as far as I can tell, but they have a delicious Cuban sandwich.
When I walked into the door, the interior struck me as a diner. This contrasts with the outside, which gave me 'shack' vibes. That said, it was pretty busy for its size at 5-something on a Friday.
I walked up to the 5+ deep person line and asked the lady in front of me if she'd eaten here before, and her reaction was very excited about it and telling me what all she liked. I took that as a good sign.
The cashier has a delightful southern accent and my interaction with her was a pleasant one - not just one of those obligatory exchanges.
I hadn't really had a Cuban sandwich before, so I don't have a frame of reference, but as messy as it looked, mine was delicious and I would eat it again. The side of fries I ordered was great.
I highly recommend this place if you can get there during their somewhat tight business hours.
