Slim Chickens

Chicken is horrible and always soggy with the breading falling off. The fries are also always either soggy or stale, they never seem fresh to me. Even the bread has a burnt aftertaste and is soggy. Nothing good here, all food is straight slop. Hate it.

Edit: 12/12/25 - Once again I am back to another review and this time it just keeps getting worse. I come here quite a bit because I like the food but the Self Service is crazy bad. Always waiting on a drink cup. You have two four people doing the Self Service and all waiting on cups.
Should never happen, workers move around but never look in the direction and if you say something it's like they are being put out or they just ignore you.
Service is down to two stars.

Edit: 10/21/25 - The self service ordering is still janky at best - as you still have to wait for a service person to get you a cup for your meal and if only one person is working the front and has other orders going on, you can stand a wait a bit
Food is still excellent so I do not mind that much

Dropping to 4 stars overall and 3 stars for service. I have been giving this self order a try since they put it in and I am not a fan.
Most the time I am standing there waiting for a drink cup because either they are too busy to give me a cup or no one is up front because of being short staffed.
Still the food is great, just that the service has went down a bit.

I've eaten there quite regularly since they've opened this slim chickens in Fort Walton they have really good food in the chicken tenders are good size much larger compared to what Zaxby's sells which are smaller chicken tenders now they've shrunk theirs and selling for more on the price / I'll be eating at slim chickens more often 👍

Staff are very unpleasant to be around. Every time I pick up an order inside, they make it seem like they don’t want to be there. They never smile at me and they are unfriendly.

Everything here is great, all staff are super friendly! Especially the older gentleman up front, he is the sole reason I’m writing this review!! Very friendly and just went over the top to help me and other customers. Food came out super fast. Im talking we were still filling up our drinks! 😂 came out very hot and fresh as well. :)

First impressions:
- The chicken is pretty awesome, I'd say just better than Zaxby's abd worse than Raising Cane's.
- Fries were kind of weird. The seasoning was good but they felt a little chewy. Idk something seemed off. Not bad but strange.
- Fried pickles were about what you'd expect. They're good but probably won't change your life.
- I was slightly disappointed in the seauces I tried. Ranch was excellent, butter garlic was fine but a little potent, and Slim's sauce wasn't great. It tasted a little ketchupy.
- Toast was good and buttery with a nice texture.
- Prices pretty much on par with other places.
- Everyone there seemed nice.

It may sound negative overall, but the chicken really was very good and that's the most important thing for a chicken place. They also have some amazing looking desert jars we're planning on trying soon. Stay tuned for the update.

Went on a Sunday afternoon at 2:30pm, parking lot was not busy. Went through drive thru, employee took order quickly. Then we proceeded to window as no one else was in line. Paid and then waited close to 15 mins. Figured they might be short staffed and were cooking our food to order. Finally received food but it was luke warm, chicken was dry and fries were hard. Not worth the $22 for 2 chicken sandwich combos. Won't be returning.

The food here is always soo great. The employees on the other hand. They could use some manners. They really seem like they dont want to be there. It makes it hard to want to eat there.

Wow!!! I’m a new customer to the chain and I am now a new fan! This is some of the best chicken I’ve had in a very long time. The sauces are absolutely amazing and the dessert jars with the take home jar are freaking cool. I wish we had a location closer to my home but when we’re back in town we will be coming back!
