I went to this place for my birthday. The hostess/waitress told us we cannot stay aa “there’s no space”. There was perfect space for 6 people people at the booth. Incredibly rude staff, unnecessary. Hospitality at unacceptable level. I will not be back. They did not ruin our night, we went to another less uptight bar. The waitress said it was the manager who is responsible for this ordeal.

What? Chocolate Martinis on tap?? Yes please! The bartenders were outstanding. The vibe is upscale and refined. I only had yucca fries but they were tasty. I wish that there was live music every night...

Love this little extension of Cry Babys! The vibe is awesome, but I have yet to make it to a show at night. The happy hour is a good deal however - they have gin specials and some snacks to munch on before dinner. My favorite part of the bar has been the bartenders, they seem to really know what they are doing when it comes to mixology. Looking forward to seeing some of the creative cocktails that they come up with in the future!

Amazing drinks! Very cool ambience, great service too. Enjoyed the jazzy jazz band that was playing. Will def return!

I haven’t tried the food here, only the drinks but they are good. If you are looking for a more chill, nicer spot to meet up with friends in Gainesville then this is a good option. It is definitely fancier than most places in Gainesville. It is really nice and clean inside. Overall the place itself is pretty small. Sometimes they have live music. The drinks are somewhat expensive but still not bad considering it is a nicer place. My only complaint is that our server could have been more attentive, and in the end when we were ready to leave we couldn’t get her attention for over 15 minutes so we just went to the front to pay.

Having followed this place on IG for a year, when I finally made it to GV, Baby Js was a total disappointment. The atmosphere is impeccable and the music divine, but the drinks are meh and the food is straight up disgusting.I ordered the snack plate, which took an hour to arrive and consisted of pickled grapes, pickled oranges, pickled carrots and pickled broccoli. There were sweet and spicy peanuts on the side. To who ever created this concoction, NO, just NO. A pickled grape is the most offensive flavor ever to have been in my mouth. Gross! This place has the potential to be a killer jazz club but it’s in a college town with a clientele that is clueless about jazz. The place was full of 20-something’s all dolled up for a picture with a fancy drink to post on social media. Ugh. Meanwhile only the musicians and a handful of guests actually understand and feel jazz.Baby Js would be perfect were it in the rust belt or anywhere that appreciates the gnarled soul of jazz. Unfortunately it exists in a vapid social media vortex where nothing is what it seems.

If you love a unique bar experience, jazz music and delicious cocktails, Baby J's is the place to visit. This is my favorite bar in Gainesville. As someone who appreciates music and an environment with a gorgeous aesthetic, this space is serving up both!

This is such a cool spot in gnv I can't believe it's taken me so long to visit. It's a jazz club so expect jazz and cool vibes. The interior design is next level, gorgeous place. Had a basic charcuterie snack plate, it was good--the drinks were great. The live music was intimate, interactive, and complimentary.

Heard about this place for years, but I was pretty disappointed. Cocktail menu was not for me - extremely sugar dominant. They were out of most beers the night we were in. We were hit unexpectedly with a $5 entertainment fee (EACH) for what I can only assume was the opening act; we were out of there before 7 PM. And honestly, not much of a 'jazz vibe' to this place beyond the stage itself.

I stumbled upon this place yesterday afternoon and its unique atmosphere transports you back to the jazz age, with its cobalt blue and vibrant hues of yellows. It is a must. All the decor, music playing - even in the afternoon with its friendly staff are something not to be missed when in Gainesville. Cannot wait to venture here again soon.

What a treat this please is! The food was flavorful and were well priced for the overall experience. They paired well with the cocktails! Each of us ordered three drinks and were pleasantly surprised by how well balanced each of them were. We especially enjoyed the ambiance, especially the music! Definitely check this place out.
