I spoke to the owner of this business, Lou and he was amazing. He was so embarrassed for how this employee treated one of his customers and he really cared that I was treated the way I was. I was honestly surprised and amazed at how wonderful Lou was and how apologetic about how horribly I was treated. The owner Lou gets an A++ in my book.

Good price for big slices of tasty pizza! Great service and safe precautions on covid if you plan on dining in.

I’m from upstate NY and have been searching for a great NY style pizzeria. Some have come close, I will say, however, on this night my husband and I ordered from Big Lou’s. The appearance of the pizza pie is NY. The appearance of the garlic knot is NY. The appearance of the cheesecake is NY. Big Lou’s NY Style pizzeria is DEFINITELY New York. I give this restaurant an A+. Thank you for bringing NY pizza to Gainesville. You’ve gaines a loyal client for sure.

I’ve been in Gainesville for almost 6 years now. I’m about to move and I regret not trying this place before. BEST PIZZA IN GAINESVILLE!! I tried the Big Louie style pizza with some Garlic knots and it was delicious!!

Well food and beer was good but the staff was rude and asked me the leave the building while in the bathroom without a mask on.... Not to mention the mens room looked like a hobo hangout just like one of the cooks... Should have more respect and responsibility of their cities tourist

I wish I could give it a 0 for a review! Absolutely the WORST experience I've ever ever ever ever encountered in my entire life!!! I brought my family of police officers to this restaurant and was yelled at, literally yelled at by a guy who said his name was "John" which I don't believe. Because I didn't have a mask on, but I was not staying inside and when he said that, I was already on my way out the door. I made a comment to my mom about how people use asthma as an excuse to not wear one. He was assuming I was taking about him, and started yelling at me saying he has asthma and just got out of the hospital, yelling on the top of his lungs at me. I was on my way out so it was very unnecessary. I had my stepdad go back inside (with his mask on) I stood outside and he yelled at me from inside about how I need to leave, which I wasn't even inside but my stepdad went in to get his name and he continued yelling at me from behind the register while I was still outside threatening to call the cops on me. He also kept saying he could refuse service to anyone and I told him, from outside that I had never through this whole process needed service because I was not ordering anything. I wasn't inside when my dad went in to talk to him as he threatened to waste the polices time to call them and I told him I was with a few police officers who witnessed his behavior. This employee needs to be reprimanded and I do not recommend anyone eating here with this type of employee raging out because of the verbal abuse. The officers I was with suggests I file a formal complaint against him for verbal abuse.UPDATE: I spoke to the owner of this business, Lou and he was amazing. Honestly, the worst pizza I have had in a long time. Greasy...nothing like the picture. Cheap frozen pizza is better (no kidding). I gave 2 stars because the salad was decent and the workers were friendly

Had the garlic bread sticks and they were amazing. The place has outdoor dining and fair prices.

Pleasant Little Surprise. Ate her for early lunch. Had daily special pizza. Sausage, salad & drink for $9. It was a lot to eat. Slice was huge. Got the Chicken Parmesan for dinner. It was fabulous. Again, very large portion. Had inside & outside seating. Cleans, spaced apart. Services were wearing masks. Very attentive. Come again? Definitely!

Twice before we had good experiences with the pizza. This time was awful. As other reviewers have repeatedly stated, super stingy with toppings, almost embarrassing so. Also, the pie was super thin, flavorless, and burnt. I’ve had better pizza from the frozen food aisle. No longer a New York style pizza. When a large slice stands on it’s own without a crease, it’s a supermarket pizza. Never again. Btw, pricey for what you get.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. I went with my wife and dog to have lunch on an empty Friday afternoon (we called ahead and asked if they were dog friendly, which they replied they were). After sitting down and having some appetizers it started pouring rain as our pizza arrived. Very kindly the waiter asked us if we would like to eat inside (for obvious reason we would get soaked if not) and he said there would be no problems with our dog (who is a service dog BTW and we were never asked). After moving all of our stuff and sitting down on 1 of only 3 tables that were used (it was late afternoon and place was empty) the waiter came back to say that the owner said we had to leave because we couldn’t be inside with our dog. I was literally taking my first bite when he asked us if we wanted to take the pizza to go or what. It was pouring rain outside so eating outside was not an option. The owner didn’t even have the courtesy of coming to the table himself and telling us to leave or ask us about our dog! He simply told the waiter to ask us to leave. This is totally unacceptable behavior, lack of professionalism and outright disrespectful. Even if the fold was good ( which to be honest wasn’t that great either) I would never return to such an establishment or recommend anyone to go. They even had the indecency to ask me to pay my check for a pizza that was already half cold and I didn’t even want anymore.
