Cantina Añejo

Took my boys in a tour of UF and our guided recommend we grab a bite here. The tacos did not disappoint! Everyone enjoyed their meal and our waitress was wonderful. The owner made sure to make his rounds and check on each table during our visit.

James the bouncer is excellent! He is very professional young man with exceptional customer service. My husband’s phone inadvertently fell out of his pocket and not only did James find it on the floor but also walked the crowded bar on game day to try and find the owner. My daughter connected with him and phone got back to my husband!
The bartenders were great and very attentive too!

Place misses the target audience of UF employees at lunch. It tries to be a dance club with loud dance music at lunch (mistakingly thinking students will attend). Management does not understand the market - I will be surprised if it lasts past the football season. Next please - great location.

Seriously good people… Coming from 1,800 miles away to drop-off our son at UF we didn’t know what to expect of the local bars and restaurants… After being welcomed by Anna, a UF grad student, we enjoyed dinner with friends and a couple tasty tequila drinks. Since we didn’t know the area and the Cantina Añejo atmosphere was upbeat and fun we decided to stay for a couple more drinks. The General Manager, Brandon, noticed we decided to stay and kindly bought us another round. After a brief introduction Brandon shared his role with the company and other great restaurants (check-out O.A.K.) and bars they own. Brandon shared his UF story and we quickly realized we found our spot for future visits. Coming from so far away, we felt welcomed and knew our son was in a good place!

Absolutely atrocious service! My wife and I stopped in craving some wonderful Mexican Cuisine only to be met with servers passing by us for 30 to 40 minutes not once asking our drink order or attending us. We sat at our seats with waitresses constantly passing by us without even welcoming us or apologizing for the wait. What was more upsetting was when we walked in there was hardly anyone in the restaurant. Highly disappointing because we were excited to try The margaritas and their food.

The atmosphere was great if we could've been waited on. Sat waiting for someone to take our drink order for 30 minutes before we finally just got up and left! So now it's 1:30 and we have to find another place to eat. The waitresses walked around us a dozen times and no one even looked at us. We came in excited to try their drinks and menu, but was met with dismissive staff and disappointment. Would not recommend unless you have an hour to wait for service.

We were just here for a group event this past weekend and had two servers that just really went out of their way to be helpful and they deserved a public acknowledgement. We attended a HH event and had brought our baby- from securing high chairs, getting hot water for her bottle, making sure we were all stocked with food and drinks since the group I was with all had young kids, M-kay and Ashton (I'm sure I am butchering the spelling) were both amazing. I already love this location for these events because the food is amazing (the veggie quesadilla is soooo good), but the servers this time (and the bartender was super sweet too!) really were outstanding. I hope someone at Cantina Anejo sees this to pass it along to the right people, but they deserver a shout out! Can't wait for the next event there!

Fish tacos and tequila gold rush were my favorites. Fun college bar with upscale drinks and great food. Must go in you live in Gainesville or visiting for a few days.

Drove in from Jacksonville to see the Gainesville Raceway but turned out to be closed. We then decided to grab a bite and so glad we did. Suzy took care of us and recommended some killer Tacos and some great Tequila. A bad day turned great by amazing service and fantastic food:)

I found this place visiting my daughter and she recommended it for great Mexican food. This place was amazing. The carne asada and queso and chips and guac were perfect. Our sever was Ashton. He’s really good. He made the experience even better. I’d go here again and ask for Ashton to be my server.

Took my mom and wife to eat lunch and really loved the experience start to finish. The modern style of the restaurant was pretty cool. Our service was amazing, MK was our server and she took wonderful care of us. She was attentive and kind so next time we come back I'm requesting her! Now....the food! Wow, decent portions and tasted so good. Get the elote to start and try the birria tacos. As for drinks, we were all happy. Glad we live and work nearby cause we will be coming back.

Our waiter was amazing and super quick with everything. However, we got accused by management of trying to “dine and dash,” which we would never do. It was my friends birthday and super rude of them to come over to our table and accuse us of that during our dinner while making us pay early. We will not be coming back here.
