She must have been having a bad day. She yelled at the customers in the restaurant telling them to make their own white rice at home. She yelled at the customers about people who placed orders by phone that had not picked up their orders. The curry chicken was watered down and lacked flavor. The cabbage tasted stale and over cooked mixed with can vegetables. Horrible!

Worst experience ever. First off the food was barely warm, definitely wasn’t fresh off of a stove. Rice and beans were about 2 weeks old. You could taste the oldness and see the beans drying out. I got the curry goat but you could barely taste the curry and the meat was not fresh at all. That’s bad for business. The cabbage wasn’t the freshest either. I fished the mean because I was starving but the rest went in the trash.

Everyone was raving about how good this food is but I beg to differ. It didn’t taste “Jamaican “ at all to me. It was served with white rice and peas which I’m not used to and for $27 I got a $5 Dutch pot lunch plate!!! If you’re from Broward you know what I mean. Not worth it to me, won’t be back.

Place can use upgrades, lady kept complaining to another customer about a variety of things. Customer service could be better. Veg pattie, wasn't the best. Would not visit again.

Food was pretty good oxtails was tender and the taste was authentic like it should be. Owner of the store was a little frustrated from me not specifying the Portion I wanted but she is NOT RUDE she’s Jamaican and She’s an Elder. She’s been in the business for a minute. I’ll be going back.

We showed up & they didn't seem to want our business. It was sad because we were really looking forward to some Caribbean food and possibly finding a new place to get it.

The curry goat was succulent and delicious. It's a 1 woman operation and maaaan she does some good work, you can taste the love in the food. Really enjoyed my meal, definitely coming back.

Haven't ate yet but from the view seems very cultural.

Smells good. Taste good. Not the best but so far the best Jamaican food I had in Gainesville.

The oxtails were tender but lacked a lot of flavor. My husband enjoyed the j*** chicken but his rice was undercooked.

Love the patties but lady that works there has a real attitude. Told her I won't be back, ever!

We got take out from this restaurant the other night on a whim, and I am so glad we did. The TVP tasted like actual meat and not bland/cardboardy like a lot of other restaurants; the owner actually makes an effort to care about her vegetarian dishes. For the amount of food we got, the cost was incredible and very fair. We got the curry and the j*** TVP meals and while the TVP was incredible, I think the rice was the real star of the show. Amazing texture and flavor, and paired incredibly well with everything. Absolutely give this place a shot

Good food at a good price, it’s nothing particularly special but if you’re looking for Caribbean food in the area this is definitely a more cost effective option than other local places.
